hey, i hope you and chem are having a great day. i am. a huge fan of your works. i love endophyte so much the writing is stunning and the pacing is *chef's kiss* and from a writing perspective your cliff hangers are gorgeous and your characterisations are so lovely i want to eat your manuscripts (this is a compliment)
okay fangirling aside i just wanted to ask about some terms i've seen on your blog a lot? i only found you on tumblr recently so i'm a little lost about references to certain arcs. if it's not too much of a bother, could you please give a quick rundown of what the "jason steel chair arc" and "las vegas arc" are? thank you :)
<3<3<3<3 thank you!!! this is so sweet <3 I'm so glad that you enjoy our work :))
🙈🙈🙈 I'm dying. I'm so embarrassed. These things usually happen organically and then having to explain them back is so funny.
Okay, so chem and I tend to write our works out in sections that we refer to as "arcs", and almost 100% of the time, the name of said arc is an ongoing joke between both of us. Sometimes it references a separate piece of media, sometimes it's just what we refer to it as when we're talking to each other. Right now, the part in the Savior we're working on we literally just call "Duke" for no explicable reason.
Anyways, so the Jason and the Steel Chair arc is a references to this tiktok, with Jason being Jesus in this instance (very weird sentence to put down in reference to this part of the Bible, but like, I'm Christian so I'm just going to let it happen). And it's referring to this section of the Savior, where, after Jason re-enters the story, he is basically going to come in with a metaphorical steel chair and beat Braxton up with it, meaning mostly that Jason has decided he is the immovable object of protection between Braxton and Tim and will only be moved if he is dead.
The Las Vegas arc is a running joke in reference to a pretty common American phenomenon, where people go to Las Vegas, Nevada and get married:
Las Vegas has a much simpler legal process, you can do day-of marriages, and there have been many many many reports of people getting drunk, married, and then annulled in a weekend. Las Vegas is also really weird in that when you're in the middle of it, time doesn't seem to like...work right, so it seems like you're living in a dream. At least based on my experience. (Ignore how disgusting it smells)
In reference to Endophyte, it's about to be a lot more prominent in the narrative, Braxton referring to "Las Vegas" as an escape, running off to Las Vegas on a whim like a stupid couple, getting married, living out their dreams <3<3<3
