Fellas is it gay to fight with someone for so long you become the same person? To get so tired, and at the same time get to know them so intimately, suddenly maybe saving the world doesnt matter that much anymore. Grebthar fought the dark overlord 15 times over centuries. These fights havent been described or anything but my brain cant help but go haywire. At one point the dark overlord said he knew grebthar like the back of his hand when responding to an emotional based question not just a fighting one so. Did they ever just sit down and talk i wonder. Did they get tired and sore and so very lonely being an untouchable hero from another planet and a ceaseless dark god. Does morality even matter when you reach such a point. Maybe theyd just put down their weapons and talk and maybe they realized over the centuries be it because they were together so often or just coincidence they werent actually all that different. Maybe different isnt the right word; incompatible. They realized they werent as incompatible as they first thought. I really hope this author doesnt take the ‘grebthar is mind controlled’ route because in the way he talks you never really get that impression. He just sounds so goddamn tired. Exausted. He was transferred into another world from earth, given a sword and told to kill the biggest threat ever. He was the chosen one who filled his role like a loyal little dog and when he talks about it theres so much resentment, he did not want to be a hero after awhile, he didnt want to keep fighting over and over again. And so he gave up. He became one with the dark overlord. I should note not a lot has been said about tdo, but the fact grebthar’s lover? (Girlfriend? Wife? Ive got no clue) the Sphynx still treats the dark overlord/grebthar combined entity with the same love and endless care she did grebthar. It makes you think; did she just love grebthar so much she’d adore any version of him? Didnt seem likely, she talks as lovingly about tdo as she does grebthar. Im thinking, they became so similar, intertwined so deeply near the end, it just didnt matter anymore. They are one in the same, they are entirely together to the point any previous differences like body and mind just dont matter anymore to even those closest to him. God im so unwell about them
