Howdy there, I just saw the post you reblogged about the “burger”-“Chicken sandwich” discourse. I just wanted to ask what’s a grinder???? You put that word in your tags and I for the life of me cannot figure out what you’re talking about…

It's another word for a submarine sandwich. I'm from eastern Connecticut, where they're called grinders. If you want a real weird word, in southern New Jersey and Pennsylvania they're called hoagies.

What's your favorite grinder place? Or do you call them subs?

Grinders aren't something I often think of when planning to eat out, so I can't say I particularly have a go to. But I'm sure you will be able to find a plethora of reccomendations in the notes of this post after not too long
