𝆹𝅥 Link & Groose (THE LEGEND OF ZELDA A LINK BETWEEN WORLDS)
Link and Groose has never really get along and the main reason is quite silly, Groose has always wanted to proof that he was the best so he constantly mess with Link, but their rivality became more serious when both noticed that the other also had a crush in you
Its more likely that the three of you have grow together, or at least know each other for a while now, what make both feels more comfortable with trying to win you over, and, honestly, before they noticed the other's crush on you both were pretty calm while trying to win your heart
The rivality started thanks to Groose because the moment he noticed Link also has a crush on you he was annoyed and imediatly take it against him, he started to be more mean towards him and always try to get in the way whenever you two were talking, putting himself between both and even pushing him a little, even trying to come up with an excuse of why he need to talk to you in private, away from Link, and whenever you aren't looking even Cawlin and Strich send him a threating glare
Thanks to the fact that they don't stop at the end even Zelda got envolved, trying to help Link confront them and eventually trying to stop their antics and help Link have time alone with you (wich end up accepting to participate in this little fight thanks to the fact that Zelda manage to convinced him by the heat of the moment), thats how Link also start to mess with Groose's attempts to court you and manage to distract you enough to convince you to hang out with him instead of Groose
Honestly, at the end all this bickery between not only Groose and Link but also his closest friends seems like a childish fight over something they probably have already forgotten, is ease to tell that they are fighting over you but the fights are so childish that the intention is lost, besides, is a bit dificult to take them seriously when both are trying to show off and win your attention in such silly way
At the end, they only reason why they stop this childish fight is when they either make you upset or notice that you aren't taking them seriously in the slighest, this is definetly not the reaction they have being searching for and if they continue at this rate non of them will even have a chance with you
After thinking about it better Link and Groose will agree that, since this will lead them nowhere they must have a diferent approach, at the end no matter how much they dislike it both agreed to work together to some extent, since in this will be you the one to choose between one of them they will start to take more seriously and let the other have some advances and try to win your heart to make it up for all the lost time in their childish fight
It take them quite a while to get used and a lot of willpower to don't mess with the other's time and plans with you but it would be the better if any of you want to even have a chance with you, still non of them will give up that easily, they grow to be a bit more respectful of the other and his attempts to court you but both gives their best to try to win you over, and they still have arguments with each other but normally when you aren't around because they don't want to upset you
Groose is always bragging about how he is way better than Link and how he will be the one who wins your heart (despite becoming quite soft and kind with you, he just say it to mess with him), while Link end up always answering out of frustrating, but deep down both know that, at the end, both will respect your choise, the don't promise to don't get sad if they aren't the one you choose but as long as you are happy they will be happy
