Wanna know a super fun headcanon? Grunkle Bill au. No no, hear me out.

Imagine this...Bill gets let out of the super secret multiverse space prison after millions of years of therapy due to his 'good behaviour.' The first thing to do on his list...is making amends.

He does so. How? By going back to Gravity Falls (time is weird don't worry about it) and begging Stan to give him a job at the Mystery Shack so he can 'do as the mortals do.' (That's what he says, but really he just wants to be around Ford.)

Anyways, no one likes this. No one. But Bill has a proper therapy graduation certificate (he frames it and puts it on the wall) and he seems to be doing better sooo 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, the rest of that summer is spent with an agonising angsty hurt/comfort second chance Billford slow burn, Dipper being completely suspicious of Bill, Mabel being the same way but also in eternal agony over whether she can hate Bill and ship Billford at the same time, and Stan finding increasingly hilarious ways to give Bill the shovel talk (featuring an actual shovel).

Also, as a bonus, imagine Shermie moving to Gravity Falls for his retirement cuz fuck it the brother he thought was dead was actually pretending to be the other one and the real Stanford is now suddenly back and he really wants to get to know his family okay???

(Also, the idea of the Pines brothers running the Mystery Shack while Bill is just dunked on all day during his redemption™ arc is just too good to pass up)

Ford's first instinct when Dipper and Mabel burst into his lab was danger, but what he wasn't expecting was the explanation of their panicked looks.

"-and then he rolled up his sleeves and dragged them into the woods! What if he hurts them like he did you and Grunkle Stan!?"

"Please, Grunkle Ford, you have to go after him!"

He wanted to trust Phill to be able to handle whatever spat was going on, he was their caretaker after all. But with his head still healing from his last outburst, he couldn't risk anything happening to those children.

"I'll go find them, but I don't believe Phill is capable of raising a hand to those boys. I'm just going to make sure everyone is okay."

"Seriously Grunkle Ford??"

"Seriously, Dipper. Now go tell Stanley, calmly, where I'm going, please." He added as they headed out of his lab, and he started off into the woods.

Grunkle Bill

Instead of doomed yaoi Bill had a moment of clarity that if he destroyed Ford’s world he would, in a way, destroy his own planet all over again

They ended up becoming a proper couple, which by proxy meant the portal was tweaked to ACTUALLY work as intended by Ford

This also means when Dipper and Mabel come over to the shack during the summer Stan and Ford are there. Along with Bill

The major arcs of the season is figuring out what Bill actually is, and protecting him from Villians like Gideon and Mr. Northwest from trying to find out Bill Pines is indeed Bill Cipher and use his powers for selfish gain

There is also an accidental “Is Stan racist?” Because Stan has alot of beef with Ford’s boyfriend, aka Bill, and given it’s so vague how Bill and Ford came to be it sounds like Bill was an immigrant that escaped the Middle East. I mean, who’s first thought is Inter-dimensional Alien Demons, right?

Bill also plays as a ‘forest ranger’ as a job

Not too far off. He roams the area and keeps the paranormal creatures in check, like the SummerWeen Fae

Doesn’t ALWAYS work but it’s still a job you don’t want him fired from

The rest of this act is going to be a lot brighter and fun, the angsty scenes will be few, but they will be POTENT, dear reader.

I will ALSO share that next chapter is going to be heavily focused on Dipper and Bill. Those two are more alike than they may think, even if takes them a little while to realize it. 😉
