Hi, I'm gruvbox (he/him). I'm in my late 20s, and seemingly one of the rare few cishet folks involved in linuxblr. I've been daily driving Linux since 2021, and it's probably one of the best decisions I've ever made. This blog is mostly for general posting about tech, particularly open source stuff.

Finally playing with linux on my thinkpad
Still very basic but liking this desktop so far, at least aesthetics-wise

Customized system again!!
You might be surprised to find out this is Mac OS. I love Linux so much but it just does not work well on my m1 Mac, so customization is relatively minimal. I tried my best to replicate my other computers Linux rice which was Void-I3wm-Polybar, but I think this honestly looks better than anything I ever did with that. All software used to do this are open source!

Applied stats homework is such a slog, but I’ve been making it fun by using Python instead of a spreadsheet. That way it feels like I’m honing a skill I value and plan to use, and not practicing my ability to enter individual numbers into a program. It’s also because the formatting in my textbook doesn’t give me a good way to copy/paste everything into Excel, but it’s pretty easy to paste into vim and use a command to add commas.
Brewed a fresh pot and we’re settling in for a comfy homework session!
