Linux philosophy: You can do everything you want with your PC. Me: Okay, then I'll make my two favorite boys kiss in my terminal.
Goddamn it, I love libre, free, and open software.

I spent some time making my desktop look nice. A lot of it is still the default hyprland theme, but I've enjoyed messing around with the hypr ecosystem!
[Qtile] Light and pleasant desktop for those of us who don't live in the basement
Sorry, basement dwellers and waifu body pillow huggers, no anime girls or doom color schemes here, just something that you can actually look at during the daytime without too much visual noise.
The whole lavender and purple color scheme has maybe three colors, so it's easy for me to just make a new pastel scheme to match a new wallpaper should I decide to change it some day. Come to think of it, I might have to make few more some day and just put them in the qtile config, so they are easy to switch around when I feel like it. Have to put that on my todo list.
The top bar has only what I want and nothing else. Thought about adding the wlan widget too, but haven't bothered since the last time my wifi connection disconnected was I can't remember when. I might get rid of the systray too, not much use for it.
Debian 13, because I want my operating system to just work and for the most part I just don't care what version anything is. Qtile is installed with pip3 due to older packaged version having a minor border color bug when changing an individual window to floating, but that one detail personally annoyed me so it's not like anything major was broken.
Been thinking about creating my own custom Qt or GTK color schemes to match the desktop, but those seem like an absolute ass to make, so I haven't bothered yet.
Qtile config here.
Picom config here except I changed the alacritty opacity to 0.6 after pasting.
Rofi theme here.
Terminal: Alacritty with JetBrains Mono font, I don't know why fastfetch says "terminal font: alacritty.
Shell: Fish with the built-in Lava theme.
Emacs: ef-deuteranopia-theme from melpa and IBM Plex Mono font.
Wallpaper I got from who knows where, just search "pastel beach" or "pastel waves" or whatever, I'm not your mom.

Customized system again!!
You might be surprised to find out this is Mac OS. I love Linux so much but it just does not work well on my m1 Mac, so customization is relatively minimal. I tried my best to replicate my other computers Linux rice which was Void-I3wm-Polybar, but I think this honestly looks better than anything I ever did with that. All software used to do this are open source!
Top Bar: Sketchybar Window Manager: Yabai Operating System: Mac OS Color Scheme: Gruvbox Wallpaper: Gruvbox Wallpaper Terminal: Alacritty I'll post the dot files if enough people ask.
might ditch kitty for alacritty tbh - too many weird edge cases and hostility from the dev. my wm provides tiles and splits and i already had to add dtach for term-independent shell sessions.
Tried my hand at ricing Linux for the first time in my life. I am actually pretty proud of how this turned out.
Distro: Arch Linux Window Manager: i3 Compositor: picom Bar: Polybar Terminal: Alacritty Visualizer: GLava
[i3] I finally made a better configuration for myself using pywal
Yes, I did it. However, there is a problem - stripes in the modules. You can see this in the last screenshot. Here's what I use (by the way, there are no dotfiles yet):
[OS] EndeavourOS Linux x64
[DE] i3-git
[WM] picom-git
[Terminal] alacritty
[Shell] fish
[Editor] neovim (nvchad)
[PC] Notebook Acer Aspire 5742-Z
