lily was fresh linen bed sheets and lemon in tea. she was the sound of splashing water and bare feet on marble floors. she exaggerated the truth and made everything sound like a fairytale. marlene was alcohol burning your throat and shouting in a tunnel to hear an echo. she was salted caramel and the sun on your skin. she hated it when people were sad and drank whiskey straight from the bottle. dorcas was shivers down your spine and cream on hot chocolate. she was the feeling of wool on calloused hands and climbing trees. she could brighten your day by saying nothing at all. alice was warm hugs and plaiting your hair. she was the smell of burning wood and cold showers. she goes swimming for fun and she buys people chocolate. mary was coming home to something familiar and pearls against blonde hair. she was violet skies and melting ice cream. she went to church on sundays and listened to johnny cash. they were the girls who lived for summer and belonged to no one. they fought with passion and loved without regret. they were the girls of 1976.

Which Gryffingirl is the loudest?

Marlene. But a lot of quidditch players are painfully loud, aren't they? Or am I just exaggerating? Either way, I'm positive being that high in the sky on such a regular basis corrupts a person's hearing in some way, because Marlene never seems to hear me when I ask her to be quiet.
