One of my favorite aspects of g/t is the gentle testing of boundaries between the two. Especially if there is a communication barrier involved, and the giant can’t explicitly ask for consent or explain what they are doing.

The giant gently trying to test how much their tiny is okay with, while trying not to scare them in the process:

• Gently caressing their shoulder with a single finger

• Playfully poking them on their chest

• Cupping their fingers around them without fully touching

• Slowly scopping them up and lifting them closer

The whole time the giant is looking for any miniscule sign to indicate whether or not the tiny is okay with this. Waiting to see if they should stop immediately, or are good to keep going. Backing off the moment they hear a tiny whimper or yelp, or gently pushing further as they recieve no signs of protest.

Meanwhile the tiny is wracked with nerves - all they can do in this situation is hope that this giant is trustworthy, and will actually stop if they express their discomfort. They have no power to actually stop the giant if they want to pick them up, hold them, pet them, do anything they want to them. They can only hope that their boundaries will be respected.

ALRIGHT so Sizeshifters right? We all know em we all love them! I mean who wouldn’t?!? They can be a giant or a tiny whenever you need them to be. BUT WAIT! What about the emotional ones? The ones whose shift based on their emotions? Yeah they’re classic too and we love them just as much. But what if there were other reasons that cause sizeshifters to shift?

Hear me out, a sizeshifter whose size fully depends on what they ate the other day. I don’t mean in the basic sense of if they ate a lot they big and if they ate a little they small, no no. I mean like some foods make them shrink and other foods make the grow. Like You just find them eating a whole bunch of nuts and they just go “nuts make me shrink and I’m trying to avoid going to work tomorrow cause I just don’t want to man” or they start chugging water cause “water it the only thing that balances my size to normal and if I’m not normal sized tomorrow I’m sooooo fucked” etc etc. They try to eat the things they have before cause they know how it effects them the next day, but everyday they are tempted to try that new restaurant but they really don’t want to roll the dice on their height the next day man.

Or what about a sizeshifter whose size is affected by weather? Sunny day? Oh nice normal height! Clouds start rolling in? Uh oh now they’re shrinking. Rain? They’re smaller! Thunderstorm?!? Whelp they’re hella small, and they’re hoping a tornado doesn’t form because that would be actually more terrifying than anything. Snow though? Oh look they get bigger? More snow?!? Even bigger! Full on blizzard?!? People start leaving their cold homes to hide in the now giant’s pockets cause they are way warmer and very spacious at this point. My dude probably has his heads in the clouds…literally!! People eventually just keep tabs on the shifter to see what the weather is like. Clouds forming ahead? Alright are they shrinking or growing cause then they’ll know if it’s rain or snow.

What about a sizeshifter whose size depends on the animal they last seen/interacted with. Yeah usually they’re human sized cause that’s the one they usually see but suddenly touching a dog? Boom now they the height of that dog. A spider decides to crawl onto their back? Boom! They got the same spider problem but now it’s way more serious. They go out to sea and get to touch a whale? Whelp looks like they’re swimming back to shore with a rope tethered to them just in case they bump into a smaller fish and they can’t fit on the boat at the moment.

We always go to emotion for sizeshifter who can’t control their ability and it’s a beautiful classic but just what if there were sizeshifter who had the same problem but just different reason? I think it’d be neat to have so many variations!

...now that im thinking about it, if MC did suddenly become handheld, how would they all react?

Pierrot: oh god youre even more delicate than before. You're so small. So fragile. He can never let you out of his sight. If he didn't have a breast pocket in his outfit, now he does, for the sake of constantly carrying you around.

Harlequin: basically always threatening to swallow you whole. He probably doesn't ever get to though, because the last time he dangled you over his mouth Pierrot pummeled him so hard, he felt like he got hit by a train.

Ticket Taker: just puts you in a little cage. Nosy little mouse that gets into things they shouldn't.

Jester: he doesn't threaten to eat you like Harlequin does, but he does still do things to terrify you. There's something amusing about big screams coming from such a small body.

Doctor: on one hand, a small specimen is much easier to keep due to needing little space. On the other hand, a small specimen is unfortunately much easier to break.

I was just looking at some old books and comics and I found a g/t story but in a short comic version

It is Gulliver's travels!!

I have it in greek unfortunately, but I can tell you what it is about!

It is about a doctor that has to go to an appointment and to go there he has to cross the seas. But his boat collapses in the middle of the ocean because of a storm. He is ready to die when he suddenly can step in the botton of the ocean. He walks and walks when he finds land and then he faints. He finds little people there!!!

It was really funny reading it lol

I love fluff. I LOVE gentle giants. Would I be the most gentle giant in the universe? Of course. Do I LIVE for those friendships? Heck yeah! Would I DIE for the gt family relationships? Obviously. GT fluff is just..

But do I still love angst and fearplay more? Do I enjoy the feeling of fear I feel as I read the tinies perspective?
