over on patreon Moss wanted incense censor creatures so here are guardian spirits from 3 villages. though they can be perceived in many ways when they wish, their physical forms are strongest when incense is lit at their shrines. the smoke also carries their voices so that they can speak with their villagers directly.
DC x DP crossover where Danny runs not into the Batman and Robin of the living world, but the guardian spirits Gotham has created in the Infinite Realms
Billionaire adopting him? No, he has the literal city spirits trying to adopt him as part of their family.
Batman is a shadowy Creachur while Robin is a shapeshifter, taking aspects of the current and previous living robins, though has a bit more of Jason’s due to Jason having been well, dead for a bit. Perhaps why Jason was so mindless when he was revived, perhaps not, who knows.
Guardian Spirit Alice (Persona) - Enamel Pin Design
The Enamel pin design I've been working on for a while now if my Guardian Spirit persona.
This design is mostly designed as a gift for some close friends or family but I do plan to sell any extras after that in my web store with the other pin designs I'm working on. So if any of you are interested then feel free to mention it in the comments.
Probably would be roughly £25 not entirely sure yet. Anyway hope you guys like it, there I'll probably be more designs for stuff I plan to sell soon.
As I said this one isn't mainly for that so the ones I put up for sale online would probably only be as many as are left over (well unless loads of people are interested or something)
Ben didn’t think he could breathe anymore, didn’t think he knew how to keep going. His body burned, eyes stinging as sweat dripped down his face, blinding him. The Maze held an extra darkness to it that day, like something was watching him.
Something was. Something with a dark force.
He stopped and stared, realizing he had never seen this part of the Maze. Nobody had. Minho would have mentioned it, and he had been there so long he would have stumbled across it sooner. There was no number on the wall, no indication of where to go next, of how to get out of the Maze before certain death awaited him.
“Benjamin.”
His head snapped up at the sound of something that didn’t belong in the Glade, something that had never been there before. A woman’s voice was calling to him, and to make matters worse, was using a name nobody but him should know.
Maybe he was going insane. Maybe this was what the end looked like.
“Benny.”
It was a little louder this time, firm but not harsh. It was that of a mother’s voice, warm but not foolish, wise but not boastful, gracious but not injudicious. It was a voice he had craved hearing, something he used to help soothe himself to sleep.
When he glanced around, slowly scanning his surroundings, he saw long blonde hair dash around the corner. She wasn’t running, but she walked like she had places to be and no time to be there. He followed without thinking, dragging his aching body after his last hope.
There was the click of heels as she walked, her back to him. He called after her, but she didn’t answer, too focused on the destination. He was too worn down to question it at this point, following this woman whose movements were excessively smooth, like she was gliding everywhere she went. There was something inhuman about her, something unnatural. He swore he watched her white pantsuit turn translucent at the right angle under the sun.
He had heard the stories about the spirit in the Maze, but he assumed they were just that. Stories drunk guys made up to pass the time around bonfires. He never imagined there was any more truth than paranoia to it. He never thought he would see it.
Every step caused him more pain, every breath made his chest ache. He wanted to give up, wanted to crawl into something dark and deep and die, but that wasn’t an option. Not now. Not yet.
The woman called his name again as she rounded a corner, this time by the one everyone did. It sparked a sense of hope in him, like a promise that everything was going to be alright. Trusting her completely, he followed her echoing steps, biting back the urge to ask how much further.
As he tracked after her, as he was trying to find safety, he found himself face to face with a Griever. It was large and shelled with metal that wasn’t the same color, like it was made out of junk scraps. Needles and sharp points lines its back, a mysterious liquid filling them. His legs gave out before his mind could catch up, finally succumbing to what was also doomed to happen. And the gentle sounding spirit of Ava Paige was nowhere to be found.
Info page on many of the characters appearing in the 2010 television series Daimajin Kanon.
It is loosely based on the original Daimajin trilogy from Daiei Film. Daimajin is referred to and addressed as "Bujin" in the series. He does not act like the fierce, unstoppable force that he is in the films, and speaks with a very formal, bombastic voice that (to me at least) doesn't fit the character.
Basically the story is that Bujin is the only force that can stop an onslaught of demons attacking the country. Kanon Misaki, a young woman who is the only one who can summon Bujin, is targeted by the demons. A number of guardian spirits, which are really yokai, band together to protect Kanon and battle the demons.
A really fun part of this series is that most of the yokai - I mean guardian spirits - transform into Super Sentai-like warriors when it's time to fight.
Plus, and this may be the strangest sentence I've ever written, the series features the sexiest goldfish I have ever seen.
@makototeruhashihater That's a good question! I don't think there are really any answers in canon.
Toritsuka says that killing the human doesn't affect the guardian spirit, but he's also trying to convince Saiki to not kill him at the time.
There are a lot of open questions about ghosts in general, like what's the criteria for making ghosts, and what's the criteria for making guardian spirits?
It seems that most guardian spirits are elderly folk, so you'd maybe think they're people who passed of old age, but we also see a relatively young athlete, a youngish detective, a dog, etc. But we never see a child guardian spirit, so maybe age does have something to do with it.
Normal ghosts seem to come in all ages, and we know they can pass on under certain circumstances like the piano ghost girl. So if guardian spirits are a subclass of ghost, then it would make sense if they could move on under certain conditions too, and the death of their charge makes sense as a condition.
This is one of those things where you can basically pick and choose whatever makes for an interesting story for you.
But a fun theory I just came up with is that maybe guardian spirits can only move on if their charge dies of old age. If they fuck up and their human is killed or falls to their death or gets run over, they have to do the whole gig again.
And that could be a good reason why Hii's guardian spirit is so depressed and alcoholic, because he's kept fucking up and getting his charges killed and has just given up on ever moving on. Though you could just as easily say that killing the person lets the guardian spirit move on and Hii's guardian wanted to finally leave this wretched earth.
i really did just try to look up this kind of thing on your blog and nothing has shown up, i tried a few other unrelated things and posts came up for them, so i really hope it's fine that i ask..... like spirit guides, are guardian angels a thing or can a persons guardian be anything/other things such as demons or maybe faeries, etc? i've been unsure for a while now on the whole 'guardian angel' thing
Hello,
This is a complicated subject, because you can have guardians that fit in the following five categories:
1) Natal (birth) angels and demons; these are allocated to every person based on specific time windows around the year.
2) angels and deities who choose to watch over you either because of a past life or because you have a certain mission that they can help guide you with.
3) demons usually watch over those with a demon core or those who show interest in demonolatry and wish to work with them.
4) deities, demons, angels may also work with you if you earn their respect, and they may decide to watch over you, or may have their own agenda in keeping you safe.
5) some people may also have ancestral spirits watching over them, and these are not typical family ancestors but tend to be former witches/shamans/spiritual people who may choose to help someone walking a certain spiritual path. Alternatively it could be a dead relative who cares a lot about you.
