Recently I did the Milford Track in Fiordland National Park. It was a remarkable experience. Fortunately, had fine weather too. This post, and following posts will describe my impressions of the Milford Track.

BETHLEM ROYAL HOSPITAL walking through the grounds

Feast for Free! Finding, cooking and eating food from the wild.
Today my partner and I spotted this on a fence along the river Clyde walkway, in Glasgow. This is so exciting! I love the name of the event, as it reminds you that what can be found in nature is both free and fit for a feast. Many of us simply don’t have the skills to see this when they take a walk in nature. The idea is to collect wild edibles around Glasgow Green, the oldest park in the city centre, and the wilderness along the walkway on the banks of the river Clyde.
In the past two years I have explored and came to know this area very well, so I am curious to see if I have been missing out on anything special! I am aware that my knowledge about mushrooms and fungi in general is quite superficial, especially when it comes to Scotland, so it would be interesting if I could learn something about it. I am looking forward to writing about this experience, hopefully it will teach me some more on how to create my dream food forest one day, wherever I will end up living!
As a bonus, the meeting place for the tour guided by the Countryside Rangers is the People’s Palace in Glasgow, within Glasgow Green. It is known for its beautiful Winter Gardens, a glasshouse connected to the museum and full of tropical plants and palm trees opened in 1898.
