Gregory looked over at Chica, who was playing the bass guitar. “Hey Chica?” Gregory asked.
Chica looked up. “Yeah?” she paused her guitar-playing.
“How long have you been playing guitar for?” Gregory asked.
Chica smiled and started strumming a few chords again. “I’ve been playing for as long as I can remember.” Chica replied.
Gregory smiled and watched her play. It was nice to hear her play some chords on her guitar. “I’m guessing you enjoy it?” Gregory asked.
She strummed a D minor. “Of course! It’s my favorite instrument.” Chica replied. “Though I am programmed to play the electric guitar if Monty is powered down.” Chica added.
Gregory looked at her with a bright little smile. He kept watching as she strummed some more chords in a particular order. Gregory could recognize the song she was playing in the low bass chords.
Then, Chica clicked a button on the back of her guitar. When she strummed the chords this time, the chords were a few octaves higher. Her guitar no longer sounded like a low bass. Rather, it sounded like an acoustic guitar.
Chica looked up at Gregory, who was still staring at her. “Do…Do you wanna play it?”
Gregory blinked and knocked himself out of the stare. “I don’t know how to play.” He admitted.
“I can teach you.” Chica told him.
Gregory nodded and walked up to Chica. Chica invited him onto her lap, and allowed Gregory to sit on her knees. Chica wrapped the guitar around them both and lowered the guitar down a bit so he could wrap his arm around the guitar and strum with his fingers.
“Now first, we need to determine if you’re right-handed, or left-handed when you play.” Chica explained.
Chica placed the guitar in the left-handed direction with the right hand strumming and the left hand playing the chords. “Strum some random sounds and tell me if it feels weird or good.” Chica ordered gently.
Gregory tried strumming, but it felt…off.
“I don’t like this position. It feels weird.” Gregory complained.
“Alright. Let’s turn it around.” Chica said as she turned the guitar around to the right side. “I happen to be a left-handed player myself.” Chica told him. “And left-handed guitar players are rare.” Chica told him. “There are specially made guitars meant for left-handed guitar players.” Chica told him.
“Cool!” Gregory reacted before strumming with his left hand this time. Gregory smiled as he strummed and moved his hand up the strings. “I think I like it this way better.” Gregory told her.
“Perfect!” Chica reacted. “Now one more thing:” Chica said.
Chica gently grabbed Gregory’s left hand and checked his nails. “I have really long nails for strumming.” She explained. “Would you like a guitar pick?” She asked as she let go of Gregory’s hand.
Gregory nodded. “Sure.” He replied.
Chica took off the green earring that was on the side of her head. She turned it a bit and handed it to Gregory. “My earrings are actually guitar picks.” Chica told him.
Gregory giggled and took the green guitar pick from Chica. He held it in his index finger and thumb, and began to strum the guitar without using chords. “This is really cool!” Gregory told her.
“It really is.” Chica replied. “Now: I’m gonna teach you how to do a G note.” Chica told him. She gently moved his fingers to the correct cord spots. “Alright. Press down as much as you can, and strum.” Chica told him.
Gregory pushed down as much as he could, and strummed down with the guitar pick. “That’s the G chord! Good job!” Chica cheered.
A little while later, and Gregory was strumming the G chord, D major, A minor and C. “You’re a really fast learner, Gregory!” Chica cheered.
“Thank you!” Gregory replied.
“Now-” Chica gently grabbed Gregory’s sides to adjust where he was sitting on her lap. But Gregory laughed and curled into a ball at the hand positioning. Chica widened her eyes and let him go. “Cluck! I’m sorry.” Chica apologized. “I was trying to adjust your position.” Chica told him.
“Ihihit’s alright. I’m just ticklish.” Gregory admitted.
“Ticklish?” Chica replied, confused. “What’s ticklish?”
Gregory looked down a bit and blushed. “Tickling is…when you touch someone in a spot that makes them laugh.” Gregory explained.
“Oh…Like here?” Chica poked his side with her fingernail.
Gregory giggled and curled into a ball again, accidentally knocking the guitar down. Chica quickly leaned over, caught the guitar, and held onto the guitar with confusion. “Is it normal to curl up like that when you’re ticklish?” Chica asked.
“Yeheheheah! Ihihit is, actually!” Gregory replied.
“Alright.” Chica put her guitar to the side and looked at her hands. “I need to learn more about this ‘ticklish’ thing.” Chica told him. Then without warning, Chica started poking and scratching Gregory’s sides.
“HAHAHahahaha! Chihihicahahaha!” Gregory laughed, falling into Chica’s chest as he giggled uncontrollably.
“Huh…” She muttered as she tickled him. When he moved to the right and the left, Chica would follow along with her fingers. “So tickling is a programmed response.” Chica realized.
“Ihihihi guehehehehess!” Gregory replied.
“Cause it looks like you can’t control your response.” Chica explained. “Your body seems to be controlling you!” Chica added.
“Ihihihihit ihihihiss!” Gregory told her.
“Do you like being uncontrollable like this?” Chica asked.
“Yeheheheheheah! Ihihihihit’s fuhuhuhun!” Gregory replied.
“Fascinating…” Chica reacted.
Gregory continued to laugh and giggle as Chica tickled him. It was quite cute to watch.
“Hey Chica- What are you doing to the poor boy?!” Freddy asked, walking in.
Chica gasped and stopped tickling quickly. “NOTHING.”
“She was tickling me!” Gregory spat out happily.
“Tickling? What’s that?” Freddy asked.
“It’s where-” Gregory started.
Chica interrupted him. “It’s where you scratch people’s sides to make kids laugh.” Chica explained as best she could. “Look!” Chica picked up Gregory and started tickling his sides.
“He’s really ticklish! Where else are you ticklish?” Chica asked.
“My belly, my armpits, My neck, my-” Gregory bursted out laughing as Chica started tickling Gregory’s armpits with her fingers.
“Fascinating…” Chica reacted. “He really likes it for some reason…It’s an uncontrollable body response for kids and adults, turns out.” Chica explained.
“That is…really strange.” Freddy muttered as he walked away.
Chica slowly stopped tickling Gregory as she watched Freddy walk away. “Well…I think I scared him off.” Chica reacted.
“It’s okay. Keep going! This is fun!” Gregory ordered happily.
“Okaaay…” She responded hesitantly. She started tickling Gregory’s neck next, remembering the list of spots Gregory gave her.
“EEEEEEHEehehehehehehe! HAhahahahahaha!” Gregory laughed.
“You just love to laugh, don’t you?” Chica reacted.
“YEheheheheah!” Gregory replied. “IHIHI LOHOHOVE TOHOHOHO LAHAHAUGH!” Gregory shouted.
“You don’t need to shout! I’m right here!” Chica told him with a little smile on her face.
“Ihihihi knohohohow!” Gregory replied.
Chica giggled and kept tickling him for a little longer.
[Later:]
Gregory was sitting on Chica’s lap while he was learning guitar again. He was singing the chords as he strummed them, trying to remember the finger positions.
“You got it!” Chica cheered.
“Well looky here! Got another guitar player on our hands!” Freddy reacted.
“Hi Freddy!” Gregory greeted.
“Hello Freddy.” Chica replied. “He’s a really fast learner.”
Gregory giggled as he continued strumming. While Gregory was strumming away on the guitar, Chica walked over to Freddy.
“Hey…” Chica greeted.
“Hello.” Freddy replied.
“I’m sorry about earlier. I feel like I freaked you out by mistake.” Chica apologized.
“Oh…It’s alright. I’ve never seen anything like that before. So…it’s fine. I didn’t know it was harmless. I was worried you were harming the kid.” Freddy explained.
“It’s harmless! He actually loves it! For…some reason. I don’t get why, but all I understand is that he was able to tell me.” Chica responded.
“Yeah. Hey Chica?” Freddy called.
“Yea?” Chica asked, looking at him.
Freddy stared at her for a moment or two. “Um…” He muttered. He awkwardly scratched the back of his head. “You’re missing an earring…I hope you know that.” Freddy admitted.
“Oh!” Chica felt the earringless side of her head with a giggle. “Yeah, Gregory’s using it as a guitar pick. It’s what it’s meant for, anyways.” Chica explained.
“Huh…Alright.” Freddy replied.
“By that I mean…my earrings are clip-on guitar picks.” Chica explained.
“Oh! Don’t worry, I know what you meant.” Freddy replied, waving his hand around. “No need to explain.”
Chica smiled and looked at Freddy from the corner of her eye. Freddy looked away, awkwardly looking everywhere except towards Chica’s gaze.
Gregory could tell something was up between them. So, Gregory smirked…and made an awful guitar sound.
Chica and Freddy both visibly cringed. “Gregory!” Chica reacted, walking up to him. “If you’re not gonna use my guitar properly, then you’re not gonna use it at all.” Chica warned.
Freddy rubbed his bear ears. “That was an awful D minor.” Freddy muttered.
Gregory just laughed at their reaction. “Musical OCD, much?” Gregory joked.
Chica and Freddy both raised an eyebrow and looked at each other. “Gregory?” Freddy asked.
“What’s OCD?” Chica asked.
