In honor of March For our lives
“Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example...”
1 Timothy 4:12 NIV
Highlights from my school walkout
The local news station was there
Half the school walked out--I live in Idaho, That has to say something
My friend shouting at everyone to shut up so the administrators could talk
Cars driving by were honking at us to show their agreement and everyone cheered when this happened
Guy flipped us off and everyone flipped him off back
Someone with no association to anyone came to school stopped his car and pulled a poster out of his car that said "The constitution says nothing about the killing of people" and started spouting facts about the second ammendment and reasons we needed gun laws.
My friend, Ava, was doing our chants and when she said "No more thoughts and prayers, we need change!" everyone got confused
One of my closest friends started crying and like 5 people came over and hugged her
Yearbook was out there taking pictures--yall Ima be in the yearbook as a protestor
At our moment of silence everyone was silent--it is really hard to make a large group of highschoolers be silent. I am amazed.
My mom came and took a video of me protesting to post on facebook. It is now on facebook with the caption "so PROUD"
I had an amazing experience overall and I cannot wait to do it again.
Kent State University protest 9/29/18
Fuck this orange guy My friend @flowered-crowns and I were in nyc this weekend supporting the protest against gun violence I’m very thankful to have such amazing people in my life. Together our strong and brave generation will end gun violence as long as we stay united through the cause
