Current weight is 85kg after another week of a deficit at 2550 calories. . It’s easy to lose weight but it’s a much harder when you have less and less fat to lose. Of coarse you will lose a lot of weight fast because you have a lot more to give but the key is to do it right so it stays off. . If you eat less you will lose weight 👍🏻 Calories in versus calories out is the simplest way to look at food. But some people look at way to simple, if you don’t know how much your body needs and you eat way less than your body wants, you will run into a dead end very soon and notice your body storing more fat than you originally had. . I’ll give you all a rough starting equation so you can join me on my journey to a better physique. . Your current body weight in (lbs) x 10 = resting metabolic rate (RMR) how much your body burns while at rest. Next, RMR x your daily energy expenditure or how active you are. I use a 1-5 scale, 1 being no activity and 5 being very active (active job and training everyday) RMR x (1-5) = daily calories. - This is a very simple way to get you and your metabolism in balance. Next we will look at splitting these into macronutrients (protein, carbs, fats) - Hope this could help you into creating a better physique 🤙🏼 . . . . . #gymnewbie #newgains #diethelp #startdiet #howtodiet #fatlosstips (at Anytime Fitness) https://www.instagram.com/p/BuTK0-RgZU7/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=wr03pby1xlxm
Day 4. Joined a gym in December. Set monthly / quarterly / annual goals. I’m gonna kill it in 2019. posted on Instagram - http://bit.ly/2HkM0Qj
Today was back and shoulders. I did 3 sets of ten repetitions of the following exercises. I did pull-ups to hit my lats. bent over rows using a supinated grip to hit my middle back and seated rows using a machine. For my shoulders I did shoulder presses, side delt raises using the side delt machine and landmine presses using the incline press machine. No ab workout today. Let’s say you are a newbie and you just signed up at your local gym. Congratulations. The hard parts over. The rest is down hill from here. You are in control of your own speed gym newbie. Don’t rush things. Enjoy the ride downhill! Your finish line should never end! Clean eating should never end! Exercising should also be a lifetime event! Have an awesome time going downhill gym newbie. Soon you will no longer be a gym newbie. Soon you will be giving advise to the gym newbie. Boom, the student becomes the teacher! It’s been 9 months since I begin my weight loss journey and so far I lost 45 pounds! Over the last month, I’ve been going to the gym about 2-3 times a week and I somehow really like it for some odd reason! I didn’t expect that I’ll adapt to the environment and being sore for days after working out. Since going to the gym, my weight loss has accelerated, too! I still feel weird when my family members and friends say, “I’m skinny now! I’m not used to all this attention, but somehow my weight loss is aspiring others to do the same, like one of my uncles! Overall, the struggle is not going to gym; it’s juggling with my schedule! I’m having hard time finding time for my usual walks, adventures, and personal me time! I’m at the point where everything is changing! #weightlossjourney #gymnewbie #changingbodies #awkwardgymselfie #confidentandcomfortable
It’s been eight months since I started my weight loss journey and so far I lost 35 pounds! This past month I accomplished a couple goals/milestones: 1. I started going to the gym!!!!! And to be honest I actually like going to gym (which surprised me too)! I always thought that an awkward person like me would not work/fit into a gym environment, but somehow I find a way to adapt to the environment by visioning I’m doing something else! An example would be doing squats, I pretend I’m either practicing twerking or imagining I’m popping in the wild where I’m stranded and there’s no bathroom in miles! The only thing I don’t like about going to the gym is the consequence of being sore for days! 2. I reached my initial goal of losing enough weight that I can fit into a pair of jeans or pants that fits a person with a decent waist and short legs! What I mean is that I’m my waist size is below a “40” now! Overall, I feel more confident and motivated than ever before! #weightlossjourney #gymnewbie #awkwardselfie
Meet ‘Jym’, my new bestie
When I started my friendship with ‘Jym’ (aka GYM but as if a person), we went straight into ‘steady’ mode. Three weeks in, I dumped ‘Jym’ and went to the Dominican Republic with a girlfriend, where we frolicked with delicious treats and pina coladas. I had planned to visit ‘Jym’ upon my return but it took me a full week to mentally accept that ‘Jym’ I were meant to be more than just text buddies, that we are destined to hang out daily.
The mind game is the battle, every time I am there my thoughts run like ‘I should be doing this’, ‘I don’t have the time to ‘waste’ an hour here’, ‘I need to leave’... Why? I have no life (lol). I work til 5pm everyday, I head home, heat up my dinner that I meal prepped/precooked on Sunday and sit my arse on the couch catching up on my PVR’d tv shows. Yup, so much more important than getting healthy, losing fat and becoming a better version of me. WHAT? I know that isn’t true so why is it such a mental game I play with myself?
After a week of mind control games and finally winning, I ventured to hang out with ‘Jym’, I promised myself 30 minutes. It wasn’t all hot and sweaty, but sometimes thats just how we’re gonna be. Getting over the ‘I don’t wanna’ attitude is the battle I face everyday, so for everyday I go, even for a mere 30 minutes, its a battle I won. It gets me closer to ‘lovin Jym’.
