So basically we wait for god knows how long for Al and co to release an album, then the moment they do, they split up. Fuck sake. This is an amazing album, and I'm actually really gutted that the band split up before anything really major tour wise took place. :( RIP HAARP Machine. Till you are reborn!

Last night I saw The Faceless, Revocation, and HAARP Machine at The Chameleon Room. New venue. Not quite sure what I think.. it's big. It's 18+ which is cool for me, since I'm 21 and tend to get really annoyed by youngsters hardcore dancing and shit. However, I started listening to metal around age 15, and I know that still happens so I don't think it's fair to some of the youngsters who legitimately like and want to hear metal live. I was just happy that they had really cold Blue Moon and a few places to sit in the back. There is a large wooden dance floor, and the stage is pretty good sized. I wasn't expecting this place to be so large! We have so many small venues in OKC that it was a breath of fresh air. Plus, they brought one of my favorite bands that I've never gotten to see live before! I would definitely go to the venue again.. as long as tickets aren't always 15 bucks a pop.

All that being said, the show was pretty sweet. I missed the first local band, but the second two were good. I had only ever seen Revocation before, who had an awesome, high energy set that I thoroughly enjoyed. I got into them when they opened for Despised Icon.. it's always nice to learn about bands from seeing them live. I was shocked at how amazing HAARP Machine is! I will definitely get my hands on some of their music. I wanted to buy a shirt from them, but they were charging $20 and because I didn't have time to go to the bank for cash yesterday (I studied all day for a final, took the final, and went directly to the show), I only had the 20 bucks my sister lent me, some of which I spent on beer before I knew I wanted a HAARP Machine shirt. I was going to get a shirt from The Faceless, but the one I wanted was sold out in my size, which was kind of annoying...

It was such a thrill to see The Faceless live. They played a good amount of old songs, throwing in a couple of new ones, which was nice because I'm not too familiar with Autotheism yet. The crowd was really distracting because a fight broke out, and people were getting kicked out, plus some dudes were dancing around like dumbasses, which I thought was kind of insulting to the bands.. but whatever. They ended with Ancient Covenant, which made me all of the happy. Other people in the crowd were yelling other things, I was the only one I heard begging for Ancient Covenant. But of course they had a set list.. it's not like we decided what they were going to play. It was almost like a dream come true. I've been listening to them for years and years, since before Planetary Duality came out, and this was the first time I ever got a chance to see them live.. Which is why I went despite the fact that it is mid-finals week and I should be finishing a paper right now instead of writing this. I'll have to see if I can order the shirt I wanted online. I needs ittttt.

And back to finals and getting sick. <3
