20. November 2025 in Hachioji: Debut of Hitsuki 陽月 from Yukinoe. She is the first Hangyoku to debut in Hachioji since 2020. Congratulations to your debut! Photo by Teruha In an interview from August 2025, we can learn a bit about Hitsuki: She came across Geisha on social media and Youtube. She always loved history and Japanese culture, and in high school, she was part of an Ikebana (flower arrangement) club. She always dreamed of wearing Kimono. Initially, she became a Shikomi in Kyoto, but returned home to Shizuoka due to homesickness among other reasons. She couldn't give up on her dream of working in the Karyukai and found a connection with Yukinoe - an Okiya she had known about before. So, she started working at Yukinoe in June after graduating from high school. During her time as Minarai, she practised dancing, singing and hayashi three days a week. The rest of the week was spent working at Ozashiki or practising in her own free time. She wanted to learn Shamisen and improve her English skills, for better communication with international guests.

"Although Kyoto is known as the city of Hanamachi, Tokyo also has its own geisha districts. These are namely Shinbashi, Asakusa, Yoshicho, Kagurazaka, Hachioji and Mukojima. They are called collectively the ‘Tokyo Roku Hanamachi‘."
