Edit: I watched it completely and near the end when they show Hagger it quickly swaps between her and a close up of Allura's face particularly her eyes. (I'm referencing to Instagram trailer)

Voltron S8 Trailer I cant stop watching it or freaking out over it this season is the LAST but I have a feeling we won’t be disappointed no matter what happens this show has been beautiful ugh I just can’t wait and what those articles meant by closure gosh I’m excited !! @voltron

Hagger is terrifying and it is boggling my mind how the team is going to defeat her

Has complete understanding of the paladins thanks to kuron

Has access to an entire colony of alive alteans who believed her son was their god

Has a cult who are devoted to her to a scary degree

Is now apprently making komar mecha that required not only the most powerful weapon in the universe even with upgrades but also a giant atlas sized mech that still barely got it down

She just disapperead with no idea of her whereabouts

Left the entire galra empire in chaos reminding you whatever she is planning isn't anything to do with the empire

Was initially directly corupted by the creatures from the other world (clearly unlike others, and zarkon she is directly afffected)

What's her weakness? Family? Empire? Culture? I honestly don't know. Because so far she has shown that despite caring about those things to some extent whatever she is planning is much more important to her. Which as of now gives her no known weakness. So y'know take that as you will

Theory time. Who I think this Altean is, and what her role in the new season will be.

My theory is this Altean will be both the VLD version of Corral and Garrett.

Corral was a character from VDOTU. She was infatuated/in love with Lotor. Garrett was an Arusian who saved Allura, befriend the paladins. But Garrett later turned out to be a spy for Hagger.

So what does it all mean? I believe that Corral (the Altean from the end of season seven) will spin one of two stories to the paladins.

One) that Lotor has returned and is draining quintessence from Alteans, faster than ever, to build a mecha army. She escaped in one of the mecha and begs the paladins to help her. 

Two) When Lotor didn’t return the Alteans went searching for him. Discovered the quintessence draining facility. Realized that he wasn’t the great leader they thought he was and left. Now they have rebuilt their cavillation and are doing great, and she invite the paladins to see new Altea. 

Because of Allura’s Altean first and Alteans can do no wrong mind set. Team Voltron and the Garrison will ether. 

Bring a hung number of Alteans to Earth as refuges.

Leave Earth to rescue the colonists.

Go to new Altea so Allura can see more of her own people again and recruit them in to the coalition.

This is when Corral will spring her true colors on the paladins. Just like the original Garrett from VDOTU. 

Reviling that she was a plant by Honerva. Sent in to gain their trust. 

Mislead them into opening their doors for an invasion.

Lead them into a trap. Leaving Earth defenseless and open for invasion.

As well as revile that Corral like the rest of the Alteans was absolutely in love with Lotor and wanted revenge for his disappearances.
