Send me 📓 or any iteration of the book emoji and I'll describe a fic I planned but never got around to writing [paraphrasing]
Ok this is going to get loooong because this scenario has circled on my mind daily for like two weeks and keeps expanding... it's a multichapter at this point and I've never actually written one before but now I have so much material it doesn't feel impossible... scary.
We start with Yosuke having a one-sided crush on Yu in high school, in the canon setting. He never told anyone though; not only because of his obvious problems with having those kinds of feelings for a guy in the first place, but also because, no matter how desperately he hoped, Yu clearly didn't feel the same. He treasured Yosuke as a friend and a partner but that was it. He never suspected Yosuke might be feeling anything else either.
So, to ease the heartache, Yosuke started subtly putting more distance between them. He called and texted Yu less often, letting their conversations get shorter and more impersonal each time.
Aaand that's basically the prolog ^^; The actual fic takes place in their... maybe second year of college (they both made it to Tokyo but to different schools) when they've had next to no contact in about a year. The time apart was enough for Yosuke to get over his crush. It did help him accept that side of himself though. He's fine with being bi now, and while he hasn't dated or fallen that hard for anyone else since, he's open to it.
They run into each other by accident one day, get to talking, and start rebuilding their friendship. It doesn't take much; they still fit together as seamlessly as always. Yosuke comes clean about his reason for pulling away when it becomes evident Yu had figured Yosuke had just gotten bored with him when they didn't have a case to bind them together. He feels bad for not noticing Yosuke's feelings, Yosuke feels bad for not considering Yu's, but it's ok, it's in the past, and it doesn't take long until they're best friends again.
THEN Yosuke runs into another old friend he lost contact with over time: Katsuragi from his first high school. [For those not in the know: he's from the 1 volume Yosuke-centric spinoff manga Persona 4 The Magician, which focuses on Yosuke's life before the events of P4. Read it if you have the chance; it's made of pure love for Yosuke and the art is beautiful. I want to cry]
Katsuragi confesses he always wanted to get to know Yosuke better, and Yosuke is glad to give him the chance to. They were never close in high school, but become better friends now.
Katsuragi is also open about being interested in Yosuke (like interested interested) which is obviously extremely flattering to him, not being used to it. He agrees to go on a date with him, then another one, then another...
Naturally he takes to both Yu and Katsuragi about the other; they're both important people in his life after all. It stirrs up some jealously in both of them, though for different reasons.
Or so they think. This time I was HONESTLY supposed to keep the souyo unrequited and let them be besties who can date other people but I uh. I failed. This wasn't supposed to happen but my brain is very predictable it seems. And so, Yu develops a crush for Yosuke this time around. And realizes it right before Katsuragi officially asks Yosuke out...
And yes the two DO start dating and yes Yosuke IS in seventh heaven and yes Yu DOES marinate in his conflicted feelings of being honestly happy for Yosuke while also having his heart hurt whenever him and Katsuragi are being lovey-dovey and yes I AM throwing Rise in here as a supportive bestie because I'm OBSESSED with the idea of her being a supportive bestie for both Yu and Yosuke and yes it. Spirals from there.
Souyo will be endgame but I don't know how yet. My version of Katsuragi isn't a bad person or anything and definitely not abusive but somewhat overbearing and jealous. Yosuke eats it up at first, naturally, GOD how he's been dreaming of someone to make him a priority like that, but it gets worse with time... somehow. I don't know how to end this rant; cue the noise a computer makes when you pull the plug thanks for reading
I love you :D ❤️💕💞 you are a beautiful person :)))
Is this...... Lisa!? Heeeey! You are beautiful too! 😘💕
filippo: hey, are you asleep yet?
eleonora: yes.
filippo: oh, okay, i won’t bother you then.
[two hours later]
filippo:
filippo: wait a fucking second
My Halloween costume this year. It’s called “sexy shadow person”
So if you're an only sibling do you have any pets?
I am getting the itch to write something but none of my 13 wips feel right and that's making me feel worse 😭
My sorta-traitor suspect list. Though it's more based off of vibes and themes- Eito having a very justice-themed set and taking a 'pre-trial 1 Nagito' support role, Shouma going high with the whole 'don't pay attention to me' shtick but also being a possible facilitator of the plot with his knowledge and actions to move people along, and Kako... could have knowledge of her own while masking that as her visions
...not helping the matter with Shouma, is the fact that somebody, Sirei, disguised himself as a Shiba Inu at the start of the game. It's just, hm, I know Shiba Inus are VERY popular in Japan, but... what if?
