To everyone: thank you for giving my reading of “I’ll Be Here’ a chance! Even if you don’t like my reading of this story, please give it a read yourself! I love the imagery haikujitsu uses, as well as how she grounds each scene firmly in the point of view of the members of Danny’s family. I’m blown away by how well she characterizes the Fentons, as well as their relationships with Danny. I hope I did this story justice.

Second Year of Podficcing!

Bibliophileap Reads turns two today! I didn’t do nearly as many podfics this year as last year, and I’m going to be pretty busy this year as well, so we’ll see how this goes! Here are the podfics I’ve done this year!

I think I’ve learned a bit since last year. Also, I’ve just downloaded Ardour because I’m going to be a sound designer for a podcast (!!!), and I’m going to be a foley (and potentially other sound/art things) for another project (!!!) currently in the works! So even if I don’t post much here this year, I will learn a lot, and what I learn can and will be applied to podficcing here!

Idk man, you don’t hit the uncanny valley right in the crown jewels the way Bay’s TMNT do.

Bay’s ninja turts fall flat because they don’t really look like turtles, they look like a noseless, earless humans with a turtle texture stretched over. The wide-set, way-too-small Pixar eyes and soft human lips are what really push them over the edge of the ol’ creeps valley

I’ve seen de-cartoonified TMNT where they just look like turtle anthros, and it works much better. Though I gotta admit, anything that gives them an actual turtle beak and not their weird soft human mouths looks… better… even in toon form. Poorly applied humanoid aspects are the downfall of any anthropomorphic character design

38. do you reread your own stories? 

Yeah absolutely! I like to go back and reread stuff after I’ve put some distance between writing it because it kind of lets me read it like the audience reads it. It’s kinda fun, especially if I feel like revisiting an old fandom/AU/idea

44. do you write linear or do you write future scenes if you feel like it? 

linear. no exceptions. Like with ABoT, I’ve got the core pieces completely planned out from here to the end, but details are fluid. If I tried to write the end scene right now, it would be completely lacking the context and nuance of the stuff that comes before it, because I haven’t written those yet. Details like dialogue, specific setting, and even sometimes character reactions are figured out while I’m writing a scene. It tends to feel less forced that way. So I need to know that context before I write later stuff.

45. share the synopsis of a story you work on that you haven’t published yet

Ah hmm, :/ I dont really have one. There was a short story I wrote for my creative writing class last year that I’ve never posted. It’s about a boarding school girl who falls in love with her roommate, and in an attempt to impress the her, the girl starts a rumor that there’s a hanged man who’s been left frozen in the campus cafeteria’s meat locker for 30 years. (There’s...context)

Friendly Reminder that the events that happened in @haikujitsu 's Phantom of Truth were almost canon in an alternate timeline in the show and we should all put our hands together and and pray for our smol babu boi (This is the closest animated scene we're gonna see relating to PoT??) (Imagine if this show had a higher rating and it actually showed all of that!!) (Love the story btw, you all need to check it out if you haven't, more recently the sequel 'Shadow of a Doubt' which currently has 55 chapters)

I’ve had this half complete in my files since the SOAD fanart contest last year- and with Shadow of a Doubt making its way to a close I felt like it was time to dust it off and finish it~ and get it done in time for your birthday!

So I hope you enjoy my love letter to one of the best Danny Phantom fanfictions I’ve ever read, and thank you for taking the time and working so hard to give it the ending it deserves. As an avid reader and fan I’m super grateful. ; u ;
