Hean+ all I want for Christmas is you.
Hale was always a hopeless romantic. He had never really been in any kind of relationship before, so this was uncharted territory, but he knew just what to do to charm his way into someone’s heart. And getting them the perfect gift.
Christmas was always a special time, this year more than usual. After the Selection and Queen Eadlyn’s rather quick marriage, he’s now designing for multiple members of the royal family, not to mention he’s very in demand. But Hale never lets business get in the way of his favorite time of year, and considering it’s the first time he has a partner to spend it with, he’s determined to make it perfect. He has his ways, that’s for sure, but never before had he been with such a cryptic person as Ean Cabel.
He had tried subtly hinting.
“Gee, the holidays are definitely coming up quickly.” Ean had just simply nodded in acknowledgement.
He had tried not-so-subtly hinting.
“Hale, why is there a Santa Claus list on my nightstand?” Hale flushed when he didn’t take the hint.
And now he tries actually asking.
“Ean, honey?” Hale asks as he leans against his shoulder. “What do you want for Christmas?”
Ean looks thoughtful for a moment before laughing out loud. “Is that what you’ve been worrying about?”
“Worrying?” Hale lets an awkward laugh. “I haven’t been worrying.”
“You look like Eadlyn when there’s a national crisis, Hale.”
Hale groans and stands up. “I’m sorry, I just… people are usually very vocal with me about what they want.”
Ean laughs again and wraps his arms around Hale’s shoulders. “I don’t want anything for Christmas. Only you. And, well, maybe some books.”
Hale smirks and leans into him. “Got it. Me and books.”
They sit down on the couch and Hale presses a kiss to Ean’s neck. “But, like, if you had to choose you’d choose me, right?”
Send me a ship + a made up title
“What suddenly made you so certain you couldn’t marry me?”
“When I found I had feelings for someone else.”
“Carrie?”
“Ean.”
Hale: Would you consider us adorable?
Ean: No! We're adult men!
Ean: We're cute.
Hale: Fox, what do you think?
Fox: I thought about this a lot. I actually think you should get a "Hello Kitty" tattoo.
Hale: No, with the store.
Fox: Oh. Uh. Burn it for the insurance money.

“I understand the whole sleep talking thing but what I don’t understand is the princess dragon dream and why I’m in it.” for Halean maybe? I just love them so much ❤❤❤
[Hale’s POV]
Ean had a million quirks I adored. The way he would drift off mid-sentence and pull out his notebook to scribble in a few poetic words. The way only one corner of his lip would quirk up in a smile, as if it was a smirk, but his eyes said otherwise. How he would subconsciously grab my hand when he got nervous.
But tonight, at 3 in the morning, I found some new ones: sleep talking and strange dreams.
“Psst, Ean,” I whispered, sitting up and turning on the lamp.
“Hale, no, you’re not okay. The dragon’s going to get you,” he mumbled, swatting me away and some invisible thing in the air.
I shook his shoulder harder. “Ean. Wake up. It’s just a dream.”
His eyes opened, shocked and darting to corners of the room until his eyes met mine.
“Hale,” he breathed. “I’m sorry. Did I wake you?”
I laughed as he tugged my shirt and I lay back down again. “You kept going on about how a dragon was going to get me.”
Ean groaned and turned so he was lying on his back. “I’m so sorry. I should have told you I sleep talk. Especially when I have really intense dreams.”
I tried to hold back a laugh, because he was clearly embarrassed. “I understand the whole sleep talking thing, but what I don’t understand is the princess dragon dream and why I’m in it.”
He groaned again and covered his eyes with his forearm. “We were back at the palace and Eadlyn was there. She was being cornered by Burke, and then he turned into a dragon. Like Maleficent-style from Sleeping Beauty. Then you were there, and the dragon started going after you.”
Ean looked at me again and touched my shoulder. “I guess I’m just scared to lose you.”
I smiled. “And Eadlyn, it seems. You sure you never had eyes for her?”
He laughed, and it was another thing I loved about him. It was low, and it seemed like a breath and a song all at once.
He kissed my nose lightly and half-smile half-smirked. “No. Only eyes for you.”
