You ever wonder if the reason he kinda looks like a white man in hell is because he hates the fact he's mixed (mostlikly hates his white dad for being a dick and is constantly mocked and belittled by white people can do that to you) and as punishment in hell for all he did on earth, they gave him a form others would find attractive AND white presenting that he fucking HATES. not only do people thirst over this man but he looks more like a white person then he ever has. His skins lighter, his hair is straight, and it probebly is discomforting as FUCK. Worse, people probebly don't believe he's black anymore, there is no doubt in my mind Vox assumed he was white when first meeting him.
As someone who's mixed, but looks as white as paper, that shit can do things to you. Some people say "you should be happy you look white! It's a privilege! People treat you better" And yeah, your right. It is a privilege. But it's also makes it harder for you to connect with the black side of your family and community at times. You can't fully be embarrassed by black culture the way others in your family can, and you can even be shunned for trying. People look at you when you mention your black and people will go "oh look at this little white girl trying to fit in where she doesn't belong!"
Can you imagine if Alastor went through that in hell, he goes to the black community in hell and they treat him like he's some dumb ass white boy trying to claim their culture or pretending to be their friend? Especially if he grew up in a mostly black culture in the 1900. That shits hurtful. That shit can haunt you. He knows he's black. But he doesn't "talk black enough" or "look black enough" for these new people anymore. So now he doesn't GET to be. Never will be again.
Sorry if this seems like a rant about my own experience of not being allowed to truly be part of my own family's culter, but I hear people complain about his fuck ass bob and had some feelings about it from a mixed race perspective. Of course, I don't represent everyone who's mixed, never will, these are just MY experiences and how sometimes looking white fucking sucks when you aren't fully white and how that may be WHY Alastor has the look he does.
Do I think Viv actually thought about that? No, but imma make it my head canon for the therapy XD
