Busy night Pt.1- Half-ear’s return.
Last night was the busiest night our raccoon haven has ever had!
Not only did I get visits from the usual gang (Hildy, Sigurd, Floki and her babies, and my little son Loki)…but Half-ear finally made an appearance with her 3 new babies from this season!!! She was so happy to show them to me, and was full of happy chirps and little raccoon coo’s.
The babies couldn’t get enough of fishing and splashing in the pool!
Her kits look almost identical to Floki’s, the only difference being they are slightly larger and older looking. This brings our clan total up to 12 (13 if little Ivar is still alive)✌🏻
Not gonna lie, until these babies get some battle scars…it’s gonna be hard to tell them all apart once they are grown and away from their moms. Like Floki’s smallest baby, Half-ear’s smallest kit is super friendly with me. I’ve named him Wolfgang (or Wolfie for short).
His older siblings like to pick on him harshly, and Half-ear ignores it 😢
This is a family dynamic I have not witnessed with Floki’s babies, as they seem to get along better, and Floki is persistent with scolding them for getting out of hand.
What surprised me the most though, was that Half-ear allowed little Loki to play with her babies for a little while, and I momentarily had hopes of her adopting him…
Sadly, she eventually chased him off 😭
Unlike Floki and Sigurd though, she was quite calm and gentle about it…so perhaps there is still a chance she will change her mind and welcome him as one of her own.
I’m crossing my fingers for baby Loki😢❤️✌🏻
