Happy Wincest Wednesday!
Holyfreaks just made a post and I've decided I'm going to steal it for this week's because I also want to know the answer. What do you think Sam and Dean smell like? Either what they smell like in the real life way, or in the unrealistic fancy omegaverse way.

Okay, @ebenelephant said rotting meat, and I want to jump off that.
Dying person smell. Every room they've ever been in has a slight tinge of dying person smell.
The problem with describing what that actually smells like is that is the closest match I have experienced is the smell of sausage making (specifically sopressata) which is another thing that i imagine most people are not familar with. So like. Just trust me. As someone who has worked with many dying patients. Dying person smell exists, it's not the same as corpse/rotting flesh smell because it starts when the person is still alive, just getting close to death.
Because both angels and demons are inhabiting human bodies that are technically alive but not really and not in the normal way, they should have that smell. And Sam and Dean spend enough time around both of those, plus are vessels, plus Sam has demon blood, so they should too.
Actually, what would be really interesting is if because of the angel, all vessels smell incredibly faintly of it. Even child Adam who didn't have any involvement in hunting since he was a sperm has just a little tinge of being proximal to death.
And yes of course they also smell like smoke (both wood and cigarette) and sweat and blood and man like everyone else is saying. But I'm going to be reblogging all those answers anyway over the next few days, so I wanted to say something more interesting and creative.
