Red Menace at HalluciGen
Red did some sabotage on HalluciGen riot control gas when the government (who had them on a leash at the time) made them go assist in development.
The problem was that their gas kept killing subjects while frenzying them, and Red looked at it, did some Big Brain Work, and modified the formula. They didn’t even test it before shipping it out for orders because HalluciGen was a shitshow.
So you know how when Poseidon Energy brought the crowd control gas out to end the Associated Miner's Union protest, instead of turning on each other, the protestors attacked the national guard? That wasn't a complete fluke.
Red didn't know for certain that was what would happen when it was released on a crowd, but they understood psychology and neurochemistry much better than any scientist at HalluciGen and made a gamble that the type of frenzy their safer version of gas would induce would allow for subjects to retain recognition of friend vs foe.
The government thought they’d successfully turned Red from a filthy commie insurgent into an obedient, even enthusiastic patriot, but no, they’re just very good at lying.
