Ship ask game! Halbarryollie?

Oh yay!! Maybe favorite dc dudes! I’m winning rn. I’ve had a change of heart on this ship, and I’m going to go with I do ship it

1. What made you ship it?

There’s been a couple of really good fanfics I’ve read within the last year that have convinced me that this ship is fun. In the past I was very skeptical that Ollie and Barry could get along in this kind of way, but given the right circumstances I do think it’s possible. I do still think it might take a lot though lol

2. What do you like about this ship?

These three are my favorite characters rn, and I very much adore their relationships with one another in the comics. They all mirror one another particularly well. Clearly, Hal and Ollie have a lot of similarities, both kind of believing they are terrible people and just accepting it. Hal and Barry also have some similarities, with both being prone to run from problems and develop the world’s greatest guilt complex’s. Ollie and Barry tend to be very very opposite though, with Ollie being a bit of pessimistic jerk, and Barry being a hopeful rollover at times. Despite that, this ship does allow them to reflect on their similarities for the sake of Hal. It’s really fun watching these three find a dynamic with one another.

3. Do you have an unpopular opinions about this ship?

I will say, I do believe that Ollie and Barry have some serious beef that needs to be cleared before they enter any kind of relationship with one another. While I do think they have some respect for each other, they both still have some serious grudges. It’s been confirmed that Barry still holds Ollie’s murdering of Hal as a serious crime, and as a very hopeful character who doesn’t give up on people, it makes sense why Barry would still be holding onto that. I also think Ollie would have a grudge against Barry for missing Parallax, and how Barry didn’t have to see Hal’s fall, or deal with the consequences like he did. I’ve seen people try to say that they were truly friends and don’t have a rocky relationship, and while I believe they do have a form of friendship going, we can’t ignore the years of conflict the two have had. I, personally, enjoy their relationship being rocky, as it keep everything interesting, but I do think those two would need to hash some stuff out before being together. I think it’s possible, especially for Hal’s sake, but they still need to have some sort of conversation in which they forgive one another.

dnd characters who are literally just knock off hal jordan (Jor’al, warlock aasimar) oliver queen (Olvelius ‘Oli’ Quint, ranger) and barry allen (Bettina ‘Betti’ Quint, monk-wizard) they are a veteran adventuring party but something bad happens (as per dnd!) and will they figure it out? sure hope so!! this is from the past when they were Happy .
