I absolutely adore Hamish Sinclair, and I don’t ever see all that much love for him. I know his quests are totally missable, but I feel like there is this wonderful and meaningful friendship between him and Arthur. It comes at a really poignant time in the game, too.

Like I imagine them just hanging out in Hamish’s cabin for hours on end just shooting the shit, talking about life, exchanging heartaches, etc. With all the chaos and existential turmoil of Chapter 6, I bet it was an incredible sanctuary and respite for Arthur. And if you finish Hamish’s missions with John, he’s genuinely sad to hear of Arthur’s death. This old hermit veteran living out in the wilderness by himself is broken up over the terminally sick outlaw he took fishing??? UGH. 🥺😭

I also think if Arthur would’ve ever asked for Hamish’s help, he would’ve totally been there for him. Because he’s a real one like that.

Hamish Sinclair must have meant so much to Arthur. During a time where his presumed one true father figure is more off his rocker than usual (yes Dutch I’m looking at you) and with his impending death looming over him, Hamish is such a breath of fresh air.

Here’s a laidback guy who cozies up in his little cabin in the woods and invites you over to go fishing with him whenever life blows you over his way. Arthur is always welcome.

Also, Hamish is completely removed from the gang. He’s a fresh perspective and an escape from all the stress surrounding Arthur’s life.

Does anyone ever think about the fact that Hosea might have known Hamish? He mentions that him and Bessie was up in that area back when they tried to escape the gang, and as far as we know Hamish has been living up there since the civil war where he lost his leg. It is very possible they interacted as some of the only few people up there.

Now imagine how happy Hosea would be that Arthur, and possibly also John, got to meet his old friend.

I will enjoy Buell with Arthur and then I will cry and cry and cry like god intended. Enjoy in the epilogue? I don't know her
