Round #1 — Match 19 of 104
Hanashan
“She's just gorgeous, and even while being unable to speak she conveys so much stoicism and determination.”
vs. Cullen Rutherford
“Yes he's kind of basic (and is not very likable in the first game... ) but in Inquisition he's sweet. And he likes dogs.”
“Cullen works because his arc spans the whole series. You get to watch him be shaped by the Circle, by Kirkwall, by the aftermath, and then in Inquisition you see what it looks like when someone tries to build something better while still carrying all that damage.”
“i'm sorry but the combo of "commander voice" "looks like he hasn't slept since 9:37 dragon" and "keeps trying anyway" is doing a lot for me. also i love that he's awkward?? like he's competent at war and absolutely incompetent at being normal. relatable.”
“cullen is compelling because he’s one of the only templar-adjacent characters who feels like he’s living with the consequences of the system instead of just representing it. he’s had every reason to harden into something cruel, and he keeps choosing the harder route: take responsibility, try again, do better tomorrow, repeat. and yeah, he’s messy, and people can argue about his choices forever, but i like characters who feel like they’re actively fighting their own worst instincts instead of pretending they don’t exist”
Who should advance?
