Finding Common Ground: Sowing the Seeds of Community & Collaboration

The Rhinoceros Project will have some of our artist books and ephemera in the upcoming exhibition Finding Common Ground, Sowing the Seeds of Community and Collaboration at the San Francisco Center for the Book.

The exhibition runs from November 5, 2021 - January 16, 2022. There will be several events in conjunction with the exhibition - stay tuned!

Materials: Enclosure - muslin naturally hand dyed with anatto, upholstery fabric sample, hand dyed thread with cochineal.

Last year I made this series of leaves for #inktober. They are leaves I picked up from my yard each day. I filled the blemishes in the leaf with 18k gold leaf. All sold, but the last image (swipe), and I think that one is the most majestic of them all! It is a leaf that was eaten up by caterpillars, and it reminds everyone of a tree... a visual example of fractals in nature and how one thing can remind us of another. No #the100dayproject today, because I got a stomach virus, and have been sick all day. I have a stomach disease that makes things much worse. And this is the second time it has happened in 6 weeks. I haven’t left the house or ate out in 4 weeks! But my mom dropped off cookies that were prepared by the grocery store, so that must be what did it (be careful everyone)😩 Praying for all the sick people out there. It’s all I can think about 😩. I will be answering my messages tomorrow. Thank you all for the response my last few posts have had. Logwood ink - this one is made just from logwood and spring water. Handmade iron gall ink - made with oak apples, iron sulphate, and gum arabic. Its a lovely purple black ink, light when wet on tge paper and darkens are a few seconds.
