This picture actually looped back to its musical origins. The original concept was about bounce light off tree trunks like I’d see at raves in the Santa Cruz mountains, years ago. I started coloring this to appropriate music and after two hours of Danheim and Wardruna, I just couldn’t take more grim doom, storms, swords and darkness, and swapped out for - ah, Weird Al’s “UHF” soundtrack, that works, right? And of course the first track on UHF is “Beverly Hillbillies”... which reminded me of 1200 Micrograms’ “Acid for Nothing.” So I finished coloring this thing listening to the exact sort of music that kinda inspired it in the first place.

Hangerok/Hangerock/smokr Decoration

NOT FOR SALE (I may make some basic bead chains for my Etsy store at some point, though, depending on how people respond to this.)

So, last night was spent making myself new Hangerok/Hangerock/smokr beads. I made the same mistake as all other times before of forgetting I own no pliers, so my fingers are completely sore from bending tiny metal loops for the chains and fixings. Not really great for my lack of sensation in my fingers from my nerve damage, but hey. I got there eventually. xD

Rather then comparing and believing I am instead looking in a mirror. Witnessing my true self. The more I do this, I wish to carry it with me at all times. But it can start from this ~ our roots ~ our Mother. Mother Earth. And through her guidance and magic this shall slowly seep into us, at all times, in all things .. . . From a misty morning out in the forest pondering about life, as usual. I’m wearing my Fern Green wool dress and my Coal Black wool hangerock with handwoven trim. Apron dress.

Cut and stitched together. Fits like a glove, provided I stay off the candied apples all market long 😅. Need to piece a bit of length to the front side gores, then we start thinking about hemming, felling, loops, shoulder straps and trim. On Sunday we're off!
