What a lovely way to start the day.

Thanks @watchingblsnowandforever for this ask as well this morning. I appreciate the ask so very much.

I did a lot of "non show" related lists the other day so I'll stick to all show related things that make me happy today.

Any time someone makes a post that helps me understand a show on a deeper level whether that is translation notes, added context, or details I missed.

2. Any time a show has symbolism that is worked directly into the narrative and works on more than one level. This is euphoric levels of happiness here.

3. Any time I actually find an actor attractive (and not just pretty to look at).

Actual attraction is rare and hits me so very hard that it can be incredibly distracting in the best way. For example, Min Jun's arms/shoulders in Business as Usual make it very hard for me to focus on meta in that show. There are some really interesting parallels and differences in lighting between the initial love scene and the reunion scene. But have I been able to write meta for it? No. Because all my brain can focus on is Min Jun's arms. But that's ok. I've accepted it's a happy place for me.

4. Any time a NC scene serves narrative and/or symbolism while still delivering the feels.

5. Any time a sunshine character smiles.

The world needs more sunshine in it.

These characters always manage to wiggle their way into my heart.

That said, the narrative is rarely kind to these types of characters. Do I dare play Something's Not Right before work today? I just don't know. Especially now that this post has put me in a very happy place indeed.

And a bonus happy thing: A lovely gif. Screenshots just do not do some things justice. Tumblr would not be the same without all of the amazing gif makers. Y'all are the best. 💜

My mutuals and tumblr besties. They are some of the kindest people on the internet. I love getting to know them through these little asks and tag games and talking to them about our shows.

Taking pictures in the city. It's rare that I go out but yesterday was mother's day here and usually me, my sister, my mum and grandma have lunch, but because of scheduling we were only able to do it today. So we had breakfast in Lisbon and I got to take some pics wondering around. Here's my favourite from today.

3. Music in general but lately this video. When I need to smile I put it on.

4. Food and coffee. I'm cheating and saying two because today at breakfast I had some amazing cold brew and a matcha cookie and it was delicious.

5. Playing D&D. I had a game this past week on the holiday and I got to play my npc that is based on Lan Wangji. It was a lot of fun for me. Since I don't have any pics of the game and I haven't shared a pic of any of my girls and they make me so happy, here is a pic of Tuna that loves to invade our table and play with dice or in this case my friends pen. (She didn't stop moving so the pic is terrible but it makes me happy also)

Been really into the trader Joe’s Scandinavian sour swimmers things. I love chewy jelly things and especially ones that are sour. I’ve been having to rash myself because I don’t live in a state that has Trader Joe’s 😞

It’s the little things. . .

The husband has been coming home more and more for lunch these days since I’ve been cooking. :) It’s so nice to see him in the middle of the day, and B gets so thrilled when he hears the sound of the door opening.

I was going to try making catfish in the air fryer last night because the last time I was at Sprouts, the catfish filets looked great. This time, they only had frozen, so I made tilapia--baked--instead. It was just simple--a squeeze of lemon, salt, pepper, paprika, and lemon zest--but everyone acted like it was the greatest thing on earth. B COULD NOT GET ENOUGH. Lol He would finish the bites we gave him and then point at our plates and say, “Fsshh, Fsshh” until we gave him more. It was SO CUTE!!!!!

The forecast here for the foreseeable future is AMAZING. This morning, after our walk, B wanted to play hide and seek and have me chase him around the yard. His screams of delight probably drove the neighbors crazy, but they were so adorable that I swear my heart just grew two sizes. He kept shouting, “sperry” because he wanted me to grab him, pick him up, and raspberry his tummy. Lol

My friend randomly texted me this morning that she stayed up until 2am reading The House in the Cerulean Sea on my recommendation and that it was “exactly what I needed right now!” :D

4. Singing! I’m incredibly embarrassed half the time by it. But goodness I love it.
