“Jyn,” Cassian breathes, breaking the profoundly charged silence that had settled between them.

She can’t stop the bark of hysterical laughter that leaves her.

She’d been trying so fucking hard to be as cynical as possible about this whole stupid, crazy thing. Had been determined to have the worst time possible... but the man she had come to know so well and grown so deeply, terribly fond of despite her reluctance and the image that stands across her are somehow so perfectly aligned. And hearing his voice, him speaking her name, throws it into sharp focus.

She’s been so, so lonely through this whole thing. Ten long days of suffering the worst of humanity. Of tolerating peoples vanity. Of listening to the other women swoon and titter... it’s such an immense relief to see him. To finally meet her best fucking friend on this set besides Leia and Bodhi.

They move at the same time, crossing the distance between them in sync, sober but anxious. They meet in the middle and she twists her arms over his shoulders, his own are warm and strong around her waist. He’s tall. Even in heels she has to come up a bit to her toes to do it properly.

She’s horrified to feel tears heating her eyes. This isn’t happening... it’s not supposed to happen. This was all a farce, a game, a show—

Cassian leans away, presses his brow to her own. Those damn expressive eyes glitter with mirth. “Hello,” he whispers.

“Hey,” she manages, her voice a wreck.

This is what I didn’t finish last week! I’m participating in the ハッピードラゴンプロジェクト (Happy Dragon Project) coloring contest being run by a place where my friend takes art lessons. The lineart was provided, but the coloring is all me.

I don’t do a lot of character shading, but I think it turned out well. Ngl, it was kind of nice to be able to focus entirely on coloring without worrying about the lineart.

What do y’all think? Did I do a good job?
