Annnnd TacD Q4 is done for Haranshire!

Woot on being on top of my shit and turning in TacD (Goldenvale required document) with 24 days to spare!  Pretty sure that it's the earliest I've ever turned it in, for either group.  And they changed it, so now it's about actual numbers and not just scans of signin sheets.  And mine looks fabulously gorgeous if I  do say so myself!

And now it's time for bed, because I've had the time hidden on my computer by a mug and didn't realize it's 330 in the morning.  Oops!

Moonshine 2013

Had an awesome time at Moonshine!

Friday night I made dirt cups and a lemon raspberry trifle for the Iron Chef.  Both went over really well and I have requests to make them again :) .

Saturday was pretty good.  Participated in crazy Arts  Sciences.  Placed a couple of times (3rd in highest noodle structure, won my heat of blind bodice lacing).  Sadly got out on my first word in the spelling bee, because I forgot that etiquette has only one t in the beginning -_-.  It poured enough in the afternoon that we went back to the Steele's house and started feast prep.  Of course, soon after we got back it stopped pouring and people were outside fighting.  I helped with feast prep.  I got a lot of compliments on the bodice Jenn made me to  represent the house Aryn from Game of Thrones.  Due to the Lord Lannister (richest person at the end of the day) competition, Caradoc Hold won Game of Parks!  Haranshire tied for second with Wolvenfang.  It was fun.  I received a Zodiac for making up the thank you we gave to the Steele's and a scroll that hasn't been given out yet :). 

Sunday a bunch of us went to the Renaissance Festival in Sterling.  It was the first time I've been since I was 8 or so.  It was fun!  Didn't have a lot of money to spend, so I stuck to food purchases (chicken fingers for lunch, strawberry shortcake for dinner and a smoothie).  There are some things that I saw that I now want to save up for.  And someone *coughDanCough* said something about stained glass not being a prevalent art in Amtgard and now I want to try >.<

Amtgard Update

I realize I haven't spewed Amtgard for a while D:

I finished my term as Regent for Annwyn with a wonderful Coronation event.  I was scared that people would be unhappy, but it worked.  There was an unintentionally Kingdom Hearts-esque quest which I wrote and garbage plate feast.  And some awards that were definitely deserved were given out. 

I moved back home after graduation (FINALLY after 6 years and 2 degrees ^.^ ).

I went to Great Eastern, which, although rainy and dampered by an unwelcome visit from my Aunt Flo, was wonderful.  Had a lot of fun running around with my two amigos, James and Dustin, as a wolf pack in quest. 

Now that I'm home I've transferred to Haranshire.  I get to see my Knight every week and they feed me and make me feel at home.  Saturday I went to Kyle's fighting class.  It was good.  Learned some stuff and asked myself some questions that got posed to me.  And this weekend is Moonshine, an old Haranshire event we are reviving.  It's Game of Thrones themed (A Game of Parks) and going to be excellent!  Everyone from Haranshire is going as a different house.  I get to represent house Arryn.  Jenn (my Knight) is making me a bodice out of some scrap fabric she had and giving me a skirt and sheer thingy to wear.  Sunday, anyone who is staying the night from Saturday is able to go to Sterling.  I haven't been since I was probably 7 or 8, so I'm excited!

For the rest of the summer, I'm hoping I can still go to Battle of the Dens in Canada at the beginning of August and Fury at the beginning of September.  But things have to be played by ear now. :/  We'll see.

Doctor Who Quest Yesterday!

Yesterday we did a Doctor Who quest (we have a member who really likes Doctor Who and the premise of a lot of his quests are really similar to Doctor Who episodes).  It was based off The Next Doctor (David Tennant, season 4, Christmas special) when the Cybermen invade 19th century London with the CyberKing.

I got to play the CyberKing(Queen).  Didn't turn out like he expected it to, but I didn't hear any complaints from anyone.  There was lots of yelling on my part and Dustin played an awesome Doctor :)  Definitely wish I'd had my red dress here and could've looked the part more, but that's okay.

Now I think I'm going to go work on my current projects.  Haranshire is having a Through the Looking Glass themed coronation this weekend, so I'm making an Alice skirt and top.  And still need to make my quiver, though I have a better idea than I had before, yay epiphanies.  And maybe I'll get to the remaking of my brown skirt.

Projects of the Week

Finished re-tipping and re-covering all my arrows last week.  Goal this week is to actually get to the making part of the quiver instead of just planning.  Also, sewing project of the week is two pillowcase skirts and a shirt (out of a fitted sheet no less :D ).  Haranshire is having a Wonderland themed coronation this weekend and I'm planning on going in an Alice type gettup.  One skirt is a remake of my current skirt that is disastrously missing pieces.  The other is a lovely blue color that will work well for Alice.  Sadly, not a matching color for a top, so white will have to do.  I'm not picky!  I'm excited!  I'm tickled pink to see Jenn again, that's for sure.  And my dog (we're staying the night at my house).  And maybe Caradoc people on Sunday.
