The Enneagram of Harmony is a symbol that helps remind us of our essence and gives us access to three-centered awareness. It is created by re-drawing the "hidden" lines between points 2 and 5 and points 4 and 7, restoring access to each center of intelligence for every Enneagram type.
According to our cofounder Helen Palmer, the life force has three aspects: FLOW, POWER, and BLEND. The Enneagram of Harmony charts how each type works with a particular aspect of the life force:
The Power Triad (2, 5, 8) represents different forms of power (active, withholding, and shape-shifting). The question of how to work with one’s energy and issues with avoiding vulnerability often arise. How much is too much or enough? Issues of space – too big or too small? Questions of input and output between self and others. What can I let in (vulnerability) and what can I give out (strength)? Issues of intensity often come up.
The Flow Triad (1, 4, 7) has idealizations of how things should flow in life, a sense of knowing what course to follow and the right thing to do, and frustration when the idealized view is not realized. It is difficult for these types to be okay with what they don't have. There is also a fear of anger because of a loss of connection.
The Blend Triad (3, 6, 9) experiences issues with boundaries and autonomy. Who am I? There is a tendency to question the capacity to be a separate self. What is me and what is someone else? How am I part of the whole? Questions of visibility and invisibility, being seen and not seen, often arise. Needing approval and permission from outside to be whole is common. This dynamic can create what feels like a loss of identity.
