i'm kinda casually working on a rafebarry playlist but ngl when i was driving to work today, heat waves by glass animals came on and i was like WOW!!!! i think that it describes their relationship through barry's pov quite well if you consider the events of season 2 - rafe at barry's place, at first kinda casually, i feel like barry'd try to distract himself from his feelings for rafe but they'd still be there. barry is well aware of all of rafe's problems and wants to fix them (You just need a better life than this/You need something I can never give)

in the end, the betrayal is him letting him go (You can't fight it/You can't breathe/You say something so loving but/Now I've got to let you go/You'll be better off in someone new/I don't wanna be alone/You know it hurts me too)
