okay i really need to SCREAM this into the tumblr void
VERY hot take: SOME feminists arent truely feminists, they are just pretending to be one while just being misandrist GASP okay now listen. [Rant under cut]
Unlike Columbia, Arizona State University didn't screw around with pro Palestine student demonstrators - they were suspended during finals! FAFO! Now if Arizona would only take this approach with the border...
Blessed All Snakes Day friends!
Hate has no place here, whether it’s the 5th century, 1940s or 2025. “ridding the land” of people is hate no matter how you dress it
Let us not be so quick to drink from the cup of bitterness, hatred and violence. Instead, let those who thirst for justice drink from a stream of righteousness and mercy.
I really want to reach out to the original poster because while I want change and progression I also feel my safe space has been violated but I don't know them don't know how well and they no longer accept asks. So many of the blogs addressing this were preaching of the importance of tagging for miluca/maria fans but are now happily throwing this around without care for other fans wellbeing.
Tag your shit.
Egalitarianism: What It Is, and Why I Love It
Let me start by saying... I believe in true, complete equality. But what does that mean, exactly? A lot of people go on about how all they want is equality; doesn’t that lump me in with all of those people?
Well... No. Because here’s the difference. I believe that the ‘men shouldn’t hit women’ thing is stupid. Now, now, before you go off the rails, and accuse me of advocating domestic abuse, hear me out for just a moment, please.
My ex and I co-parent our son. He believes that a boy should never ever ever hit a girl, for any reason. I feel differently. If a woman hits my son, I fully expect him to hit her back. Does that mean he should beat her to a bloody pulp? No, of course not. But we have men being abused by their wives and girlfriends, because we’ve taught them to never ever ever hit a woman, no matter what she’s doing, it’s just wrong.
But that’s not equality. Equality means, I will hit a woman as quickly as I will a man. I will hit a black man as quickly as I’ll hit a white man. I’ll hit a gay man as quickly as I will a straight man. If you hit me, I don’t care who you are: I’m going to hit you back. Period, end of story.
Equality doesn’t mean everybody gets special protections; it means we’re all fair game. No special rules, no special laws; murder is murder, rape is rape, and assault is assault. Your race, gender, and orientation don’t mean shit about the punishment. If murder carries a lifetime sentence, then your race/gender/orientation shouldn’t matter -nor should your victim’s race/gender/orientation. Equality means we all stand equal before the law.
Now, some of you might say, “Well, all this past injustice must be righted! It must be answered for!” Well, sorry to burst your bubble, pal, but that’s not how injustice works.
A hundred years ago, women were considered incapable of rational thought by most. They weren’t allowed to vote, or own property, etc., but guess what? Punishing males born twenty years ago isn’t going to change what happened in the early 1900′s; all you’re doing is swinging the scales of injustice in a direction that personally pleases/benefits you. You can’t ‘right’ the wrongs of the past; you can’t fight the battles of yesteryear. What happened, happened. Was it wrong? Of course. But punishing men today isn’t going to change that; putting men in the position of hated class, unworthy of even the most basic human decency, isn’t going to change what happened throughout history.
I don’t believe that anyone is afforded ‘victim status’, simply because of the color of their skin, the genitals in their pants, or what genitals they happen to be attracted to. If something horrible happens to you, I will advocate for you; I’ll come out swinging in your defense.
But I won’t sit here, and go ‘straight white males’ in the tone of voice that implies they should all be castrated. I won’t say, ‘all black males are criminals’, and try to get them sentenced harsher. I won’t say, ‘all women are hysterical basket cases’, and try to take away their rights.
Because, as an egalitarian, I will treat you the way you treat me. If you treat me like I’m scum, because I’m white? I’ll treat you like scum. You treat me like I’m less, because I’m a woman? I’ll treat you like less. You treat me like poor white trash, because of where I grew up? I’ll treat you like trash.
That’s what egalitarianism is. It’s about treating everyone as equal, with no regard to anything but their behavior. Being black or white, gay or straight, male or female, WHATEVER, doesn’t give you the right to treat someone else like shit -even if it was ‘your’ people being mistreated in the past.
The only way to move forward is to live in a truly blind society -where who you are doesn’t matter; it has no input on how people treat you, or how they see you. This identity politics game has gotten so far out of hand, it’s officially beyond parody.
For example... Apple fired the female, black Diversity Chief, and replaced her with a white woman. Why? Because Denise Smith said:
“Diversity is the human experience. I get a little bit frustrated when diversity or the term diversity is tagged to the people of color, or the women, or the LGBT. There can be 12 white, blue-eyed, blond men in a room and they’re going to be diverse too because they’re going to bring a different life experience and life perspective to the conversation.”
For that unspeakable horror, she was fired, and replaced by a white woman, who immediately started about hiring only minorities and women, and restated her firm approval of diversity hires as ‘belonging to women and minorities’.
Newsflash: That’s not diversity. That’s racism and sexism in the opposite direction. And don’t give me the ‘reverse racism’ isn’t a thing; it most certainly is. If you hate me because I’m female, that doesn’t make it any different than me hating you because you’re a male. Hate is hate; who does what shouldn’t matter; it’s the ‘what’ that matters.
Who you are, should never outweigh what you did, or what was done to you. Raping a little boy is no less horrific and tragic than raping a little girl; killing a man is no less horrible than killing a woman; abuse against a man is never justified, just as abuse against a woman is never justified. Killing someone because of their skin tone is wrong, regardless of what color that skin happened to be.
We’ve lost sight of this, though. And it’s scary as hell. And it’s why I refuse to jump on board with feminists, or ‘SJWs’, or ‘activists’ or whatever other group you want to throw out there. Because they’re all just trying to right the wrongs of the past, by creating future victims of people today with their hatred.
