Ohhh~ Could I get a drabble on Hau x Female!Reader? Maybe having some malsadas together with their pokemon? Or headcannons on how Hau would comfort the reader after losing a trial? Hau is such a sunshine bean and I love him so much ;7;
Hi! thank you for your request :) I'm just gonna go ahead and do the first idea in this post, but if you want me to do the second one go ahead and submit another ask for it !! I'd be happy to do it and my requests are still open as of now!
(also I try to keep all my writings as gender neutral as possible, so hopefully this is still okay! But I appreciate the specifics)
Malasada Date, Hau x Reader
"Y/N, come on! I'll beat you to the Malasada shop!" Hau yelled, jumping around you excitedly, punching the air with his fists before taking off down the street. How he had so much energy all the time, you didn't know. But it sure was adorable. You laughed, chasing off after him, your crammed bag thumping against you as you ran.
Hau beat you, of course, but you told him you weren't really trying. And the bag was weighing you down, not your fault. "I told you I would carry it! You're too hard headed sometimes," Hau chuckled as he swung the door open for you, the bell jingling happily.
"It's called independence, Hau. And besides, you get to carry the malasadas! On second thought, I don't know if we can trust you with that task."
"I won't eat them until we're there! I already promised you!" Hau's face lit up as he approached the counter, marveling at all the tasty treats. It seemed like almost every day Hau was bringing you along with him to sit and snack on the Alolan specialty. Not that you minded, the malasadas were amazing and sweet, but your boyfriend's company was sweeter.
Yesterday you suggested the two of you do something a little different, getting your malasadas to go this time. You knew a lovely little spot overlooking the ocean, perfect for a small picnic. You looked around the small shop, enjoying the wafting sugary smell while watching trainers share snacks with their cute pokemon.
"Six Big Malasadas, please!" You waited patiently as Hau ordered for the two of you and your teams, eagerly picking out the flavors he knew you loved. You glanced at the third booth in the row, the one you and Hau had your first date in, and the one you frequented almost daily. It was his turn to pay and soon you were out the door again, a steaming bag of malasadas clutched in Hau's arms.
"These are going to be so good!" he cheered, as you both started towards your picnic spot. Like always, Hau was bouncing around, running ahead only to wander back to your side, occasionally asking, "Which way from here?" And soon you were spreading out the blanket you had stuffed into your bag.
The spot you had picked was down a short path off the main route. It was grassy with pretty flowers sticking up and waving gently in the breeze. There were a few tall, broad trees providing shade from the hot sun. You had laid out the baby blue blanket partially under the cover of the branches, basking in the warm spots of dappled sunlight. Just down the hill, dirt gave way to the dark rocky coast which spilled into sun soaked sand, and then the sea. Hau thought it was the perfect spot. You pulled out the bottles of lemonade and soda pop you had brought as Hau started bringing his pokemon out from their balls.
"Look, guys! Me and Y/N brought some malasadas! And after we can all go play, or even get some training done!" You watched as Hau's Pikachu sniffed and pawed at the brown paper sack before letting out a small, excited squeal. "What are you waiting for? Lets dig in!" You said, cracking open a cold lemonade and releasing your team.
Hau managed to eat a whole Big Malasada by himself, while you shared two with all your pokemon. The two of you laid side by side on the blanket, watching the wind rustle the leaves above you. Some of your pokemon slept peacefully in the shade by you, while others played and socialized in the sunshine not far away. You listened contently as Hau energetically rambled on about his plans for going through all his Island Trials. You were surprised he was laying still for so long, although his hand gestures were pretty hyper by themselves.
A lull in the conversation settled in comfortably. "A day off is nice every once in a while, isn't it?" You asked.
"Huh? Oh, for sure!" Hau answered, rolling over onto his stomach. He was even closer to you now, and you watched as his deep green eyes lit up in the spotted sun. "I don't care what I'm doing, it's fun if you're around!" Hau leaned over to plant a huge kiss on your cheek before erupting into soft giggles and pink blush. He plopped down onto his side, facing you, as a smile broke out on your face.
"I couldn't agree more," you turned to face him as well.
"That whole 'being rivals' thing wasn't much fun. I much prefer it this way, don't you think?" Hau gently grabbed your hand, pressing them together, palm to palm as you hummed in agreement. He laced his fingers with yours before bringing your hand to his face, pressing his warm lips against each knuckle.
You sighed, "I could stay like this forever."
"Me too,” Hau paused, sending you his brightest smile. “But there's training to be done! We'll never complete our trials laying around like this, Y/N!" Hau jumped up to his feet, pulling you up along with him. He wrapped you up in a loving hug, swaying and stumbling around. "Come on, first one to the beach is a rotten Eggsecute!"
