Dusty knew Nightmare could see the strings. Killer and Nightmare had one after all. When raiding, not killing, a neutral AU the string popped up? Nightmare hissed to go find them.
You were with your own gang when Dust showed up. The string connecting you the first and foremost reason you both hugged right on contact. A havenfell world where a monster was his significant other? Oh Dusty was so happy to meet you.
Your gang and Nightmare’s gang fused. Error slipped your codes into the hidden AU and the rest was history. Your cook was Eye's soulmate too.
All in all? Win-win.
Dusty got his sweetheart. Eye got a sweetheart. Error got to make more silly jokes about relationships.
When Cross joined Error stopped that cause Cross and him were soulmates that were more or less in the same situation.
It was all good in the AU with family(though they had to make more "couples" rooms.)
