こんにちは、私の名前はヘレナです。２８さいです。私の町はレディッチです。バーミンガムのレディッチは下です。去年の９月から、マンチェスター大学の学生です。マンチェスターはたのしいがにぎやかです。私の町は小さくて、しずかです。でも、マンチェスターのほうがすきです。

マンチェスターで私は日本語の学生です。私の日本語と日本のれきしのクラスはとてもおもしろいです。たいてい、詰まらないから、れきしがきらいです。でも、このクラスはたのしかったです。私の日本語の読み書きはじょうずです。でも、私の日本語のきくはじょうずじゃないですよ。

よく、ゲームをして、本をよみます。たいてい、ファンタジーの本が好きです。週末はスペックセイバーズのアルバイトがあります。去年、ビジェンエクスプレスの仕事がありました。ビジェンエクスプレスで仕事がだいすきでした。ほとんど、私のせんこうはこうかくでした。でも、日本語のほうがだいすきです。

マンチェスター大学はたのしくて、おもしろいが、ちょっとさびしいです。私のこいびとは私の町にすみます。来年、私のこいびとはここにきます。そうねがいます。

This was my 3 minute speech in my oral exam yesterday :) I'm only in 1st year end of semester 1 so its not amazing but it gives and idea of what level is expected after 3 months from absolute beginner? It's kinda tough, I work too (as you can see) so it's pretty full on... Next year I don't think I'll be able to work and study.

Hi again! So it's been a while~

A lot happened, I left Uni in 2018 because of reasons beyond my control. I went through about... 9 months of being unable to even leave my flat? It was weird. End of 2019 my partner decided to move us back to my home town, it worked out much better, both got jobs straight away in the area, ended up renting a beautiful 3 bed house, it was amazing. But I wasn't happy?

I was a manager at Clares during covid and it was awful. I had to lone trade 4/5 days a week and on Saturday had one colleague help me for 3 hours only. It wasn't terrible until they brought back piercings and I was doing 80+ per week alone. Kids didn't want their 2nd one done after having their first one, parents refusing to pay, etc. All alongside having to serve, restock (I had to lock the store each time I left the shop floor as I was alone and couldn't ask people to leave. Imagine the toilet breaks) and do all manager things too? It was awful. So I kinda broke down? I was sat behind the till one say and just sobbing, I couldn't stop and there were no customers (thank goodness) until my brothers wife came in to see me.

We talked it out and she asked what could make me happier and I confessed I regretted not being able to finish my degree... so she basically just said to message the uni and ask? I did and ended up having a video call with head of japanese and he was like oh yeah that's fine 👌 it was really easy and by end of September i was told i was accepted and by Jan I had my acceptance letter to start following September 2021. I was so happy! But my work still sucked.

I changed jobs and ended up working in optics, which I continued doing even after starting uni. So yeah. Things are much better now! Sorry about the run down but it's kinda nice to dump my purse out a bit. I still have down days but I'm doing what I love again and its going so well. It's mid exams right now. I had my Oral yesterday 🥲 3 minutes speech in Japanese followed by 5 minutes of questions. It went well I think? I hope haha

Next I have my Japanese written exam on Thursday so today and Wednesday will be super study days where I go through all my grammar points, kanji and vocabulary~

The premise

Okay so I have an idea for a novel I wish to write and I’ve written a short premise for it, please, let me know what you think about t and if you would read it? Thanks :)

A young halfling Selkie finds herself stuck in the middle of a corruption war, threatening to destroy the Earth, Air and Sea boundaries. She must decide wether to keep her new found secrets to herself and spend her life on the run or to betray the world she thought she knew and break down the threads of society.

Side notes: I didn’t actually have a gender for my protag for ages so I may change this depending on feedback, I would like a little romance in my story but like, it doesn’t really matter about the gender, the romantic interest characters can stay the same and still be interested in the protag no matter the gender. 

Also I made myself some tea to have whilst doing some writing and it’s gone cold. So sad.

I've lost 3lbs this week and I'm super happy about it.

I've not been able to lose weight no matter what I've tried and I've recently started intermittent fasting, eating my normal calories between 12pm and 8pm and just drinking water and black tea or coffee in the 16 hours between and it's worked so well so far! Week 1 had no loss but looking good for week 2 💪

What a lovely morning

Waking up to sunshine, having breakfast in bed with my partner, a nice cup of peppermint tea and an email from the estate agent telling us they've taken the apartment we wanted off the market and we can move in on the 20th.

I'm so happy today! Motivated to get my shit together and put it in a backpack. Literally.

I find that I spend so much time looking at everyone else's tumblr and getting pumped to get my study or workout on... I end up having no time left to study or workout 🙈

Good morning London bridge!

So it's only 110 days until I start uni now 🤩 I can't believe it's already been a month! Haha but this is why I've been inactive; so due to work I've been training in London and have been living out of a hotel pretty much...

It's nice, I get free breakfast and dinner, but I miss my home comforts so bad :( and all I brought was my flashcards and a notebook so studying isn't as productive as it should be 🙄

I will get back on things when I'm back and have some free time again! Just thought I'd update y'all. 🤙
