Sālim bin ‘Abdillāh narrated from his father, ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar (radiyallāhu ‘anhumā), who said: “Once Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) passed by an Ansārī man who was admonishing his brother for being too modest and shy. On that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:

‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:
“Whoever’s Hayaa’ (modesty/shyness) decreases, his religiosity decreases. And whoever’s religiosity decreases, his heart dies.”

Having modesty compared to the fashions of Western society is not the modesty we want to attain. Modesty that pleases Allah by fulfilling the sunnah is the goal, not modesty in comparison
Reminder to myself as I continue to work towards improving modesty for the sake of Allah
When shyness is lost, every type of evil is committed.
There are five signs of wretchedness :
1. The harshness in the hearts
2. The unflinching eye
3. The lack of shyness
4. The seeking of worldy pleasures.
5. Longevity in life
