I enjoy your reasoning. I personally HC the title 'King' in Lucian as being gender neutral, but it /not/ starting as that and throwing a lot of nobles off balance when women were chosen by Bahamut to be king is neat.
Thanks!
You know, when the gender neutral term for the ruling monarch is ‘King’ then the term for the spouse must be ‘Queen’. I spit my tea out at that thought, it’s so funny.
The first time that happened must’ve been hilarious.
You know, I imagine the whole Bahamut choosing a monarch, or King if we go with that as a gender neutral term, going a bit like this:
The Lucis Caelum family plus witnesses stand in front of the crystal. The people were convinced that Creperas uncle - let’s call him... Lemuros - would be king, because until now it’s always been the males in the family who got to rule. Also, Bahamut until now has always approved the one the king chose as his heir.
But.
But there is the prophecy.
And Crepera is actually one of the thirteen chosen Lucii to help the Chosen King.
(Bahamut had to make away with her brother, who was heir before her as is ancient right, because he was older than her.)
So they all stood in front of the crystal. Lemuros and Crepera the only Lucis Caelums left alive and everbody expecting Lemuros to be chosen as he stepped in front of the crystal.
But nothing happened.
Then the crystal came alive with energy that sounded like a thousand swords being drawn and Bahamut spoke: “All hail the new King. All hail Crepera Lucis Caelum.”
The political lanscape was never the same again.
It's funny how most people think Tolkien just mashed letters together to come up with a Cool Fantasy Name for everything but then you look at some Welsh names and it's like... "Arawen" is literally right there
Did stays really want to pull chris' beanie off when he got off the plane? Aight 🤡🤡
Do you remember when Merlin was a 'family' show and aired at about 5:30pm with the characters flirting with little smiles& shy glances and then ended being shown around 8:30pm with fisting innuendos in the minutes it aired after the watershed?
