Yeah the Jedi Path is NOT canon, and I strongly disagree with its insinuation (among other things) that the Jedi will just take children against parents’ wills because “the Force being present indicates consent and we’re legally allowed to anyway”. That’s not something that’s supported by the source material, even within Legends (which is the continuity that Jedi Path draws from). There’s certainly accusations thrown at the Jedi of being kidnappers, but afaik there’s no actual instance of them taking a child after the parents indicated an unwillingness to give them up. In fact, we have the opposite: in TCW, the Jedi stopped going to a planet because the locals didn’t want to give them any children.

And in TPM, Qui-Gon makes a point of making sure Shmi and Anakin are both okay with and know what they’re agreeing to. He doesn’t whisk Anakin off without consent.

And while I haven’t read everything from Legends, I get the feeling that if there was an actual example of the Jedi taking a child without consent, I’d have gotten it thrown at me already (the only example that I’ve seen thrown around is some web story thing but even in that case the Jedi took the child in after a disaster where the parents were reasonably, if incorrectly, presumed dead). Instead, we have an instance in one of the comics where the Jedi return a child after the parents change their minds (and for some reason hire a bounty hunter to get the kid instead of just asking). In Dark Rendezvous we have a child who the mother begged the Jedi to take him, and the Jedi were hesitant in doing so because the mother was drunk at the time. In Wild Space, Bail Organa dismisses the accusation of Jedi being baby-thieves as the belief of “a fool or a troublemaker”. So even if there are Legends works that lean towards the interpretation put forth by the Jedi Path book, there’s definitely enough within that continuity to contradict it, too, especially in conjunction with the “higher” canon of the films and TCW also disagreeing with that interpretation.

Diarmuid giving dating advice to his master?

Honestly, when you approached Diarmuid saying that you had some questions and concerns, he was expecting the worst. He was expecting something bad to happen, he was expecting it to be something that threatened the balance of life and death - he was not expecting you to come to him on advice on how to properly treat your significant other or what they would expect from you on a date.

Mind you, Diarmuid wasn’t inexperienced. He was, on the other hand, outdated. He didn’t quite understand all the small nuances that were involved in dating in the current times, and it still baffled him how some people could get so upset over something that would have meant nothing to him (and many others) during the time he was alive. Yet here he was sitting across from you while having tea and discussing the best way to woo someone.

Diarmuid does admit that a lot of his courting methods are rather old-fashioned, but he does stand by his original point that you should always be genuine and honest to the person you want to be with. Be considerate of your actions towards them and do your best to get to know them well. After all, if you started liking someone simply due to their appearance, you may not like them for their personality, and Diarmuid emphasizes that a lot whenever he gives you advice.

Honestly though, the thing he really wants you to remember when you’re trying to date someone is that you have to consider a lot of factors. Does being with them make you happy? Do you enjoy the time you spend with them regardless of the activity that is being done when you’re with them? He wants you to consider all of those points and always offers to be here whenever you need more advice - although at this point you may have gotten all the advice from him already.

Ah, gosh, the 10 head canons prompt was a while ago (March 2018!)!  If you wanna check them out, there are links to them all at the bottom of Taichi’s here.

I’ll try to think of as many Piyomon head canons as I can below the cut!

Also, I am (somewhat regrettably) open to PG Sexy Time Head Canon requests for the Chosen, as seen here for Eimi, also regrettably.

-So I have no idea if this counts as a head canon, but one thing about Piyomon is just how... how endlessly kind she is.  Sora tends to be snappish when she’s under a lot of stress, and because of her position as an iemoto heiress/caretaker, she is... often... stressed.  Since Piyomon is always by her side, Piyomon... gets snapped at sometimes!  And Piyomon always, always responds with even more love, since she understands what Sora is going through.

Is anyone else tearing up?  What a precious and strong baby.

-Piyomon is exceptionally warm and open about her feelings, a relief against Sora, who tends to act like she’s always doing better than she is in an attempt to take care of others.

-So we’ve established that Piyomon is Warm Loving Good Strong BB, but!  Also!  If she thinks someone is hurting Sora in any way, shape, or form, SHE ATTAC.  She can be overzealous about protecting Sora from threats of any kind- and is sometimes totally misunderstanding a situation.

-Related, Piyomon is the mom friend of the digimon.  She will chide and nag and “be careful!” “remember to x!” “AGUMON THAT IS NOT YOUR FOOD!” “GABUMON THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT TENNIS MATCH AND YOU WILL BEHAVE!” “YAMATO, YOU ARE MAKING SORA WORRY!!!!”

-Piyomon and Tailmon meeting up for the express purpose of gossiping/venting about, “I had to stop Agumon from stealing Hikari’s lunch again today!”  “How awful!  Taichi upset Sora again!”  “What did he do?!  I’ll tell him to fix it!”

-Piyomon is more interested in eating healthy than most digimon.  She loves Japanese food, but also fruits, salads, and grain salads.  She likes to assemble healthy salads for Sora while Sora is busy.  She also brings Sora lots of water.

-Piyomon loves to organize, clean, and make lists!  At first, she was just mirroring Sora, but she took to it maybe a little... too well?  Doing laundry is her favorite.

-Piyomon played a huge role in Sora’s wedding planning!  And!  WAS SO!  EXCITED!  She didn’t sit still once on Sora’s wedding day, because she was so excited and so happy and so busy helping.

-Piyomon continues to mediate between Sora and her mother as needed.  She tends to remain understanding of both sides, even when Sora is being too emotional.  Still, when Sora’s mom needs perspective, Piyomon doesn’t hesitate to say so.

-Sora makes clothing for digimon (inspired by Agumon’s wee bitty suit in the epilogue), and Piyomon is her model.
