Hopeless
I am rewatching some old episodes of Criminal Minds. The episode I'm on rn is called "Hopeless" and there is a scene in which Penelope wants to talk to Morgan privately. The team is working on a case in which a guy is killed (he's not the only victim but that's irrelevant for my post). The victim's sister keeps coming to Derek to ask him about progress but it's obvious that she seems to have other interests in him too.
Penelope notices and warns Morgan and tells him about her opinion. That the woman is putting the professionalism in danger.
And now comes the main part: Garcia begins with the fact that she likes Derek. Then she tells him what's on her mind in a calm and collected way so you can see her point. And Derek states that he likes her too and that he respects her. Then he tells her his point of view and his intentions.
Later on in the episode they talk normally to one another and they are fine.
I am so in love with the portrayal of their argument. We all know that they are the bestest of friends and that they love each other dearly. And that shows even in that discussion. They don't yell, they don't really fight. They talk. So thanks to the writers of that episode that they gave us a healthy portrayal of a friendship fight.
Now we can talk about that epic scene at the end when Emily, Rossi and Hotch walk away from the other cops with that nice background music
Thanks for listening to my rambling, you may continue scrolling and simultaneously binging a true crime series or a watching a criminal minds marathon.
