Man, I don't get why it's such a common thing for people to depict Monika crawling out of the screen at you in fanworks.
I mean, obviously I do. It makes sense as a motif. It's also very good symbolism depending on the implementation, since reaching past the screen is the whole point of Monika's destructive spiral. It works, and it's what she's going for.
I guess I mainly mean that I don't get the ubiquity of "scary Monika can't be contained by the screen and is going to get you" in certain spaces. Cause, like, she really can be contained by the screen. That's...that's why she does the things. Cause she's stuck in the game.
Giving her, like, a knife or the clear intention to dom you is especially incongruous because:
She has no incentive to hurt you, the player (at least in the middle of Act 3, which these usually depict)
There's no way she is a dom
Also, realistically, if Monika actually managed to burst out of your screen like that, she would probably:
Have an emotional breakdown because of the everything
Beg for you to keep her with an incredibly uncomfortable amount of desperation
Ask to eat and use your shower
Just kind of lay there
Anyway, I guess this is just a pet peeve of mine, but I felt the urge to mention that Monika coming out of the screen would probably be less Samara and more Congratulations: You have 3-D printed an autistic teenager with PTSD.
