completely unsurprised, it feels like they really wanted it to compete w disney's typical fare so they learned into that market. disappointing because i feel like wicked's edges are what made it so captivating in the first place (and it was already WAYYY sanded down from the novel it was based on, which was, Well Good Lord) but completely unsurprising

or i guess, A Little Surprising because they did say they're apparently not cutting out a single song? but i guess that doesn't account for recontextualizing them
