I feel like there are some moral complexities in Vaelus x Thaisha that no one is willing to discuss yet

Aabria is very open about how Thaisha was wronged by the gods, and their people. Other races only cared about orcs once they saw they could potentially become the “new orcs.” They weren’t willing to suffer the way Thaisha’s people did, so they killed their gods. Thaisha extends kindness to people who miss their gods, because she understands that they miss a time where things felt easier. But she knows that they are mourning a system that allowed her people to face slavery.

Vaelus is one of the people mourning her god. She is so deep in mourning, in fact, that she still wears her mourning veil. She wants her god to return, because she loved her god. They were family, in a way.

I think the dynamic of “the Shapers enslaved my people” x “I want nothing more than to see my Shaper again” is an incredibly complicated situation. This ship is not bad; it’s incredibly good, actually. However. I wish people would think more about the way they portray it. It’s a direct parallel of real world racism; please be mindful.
