also, I think that the hallucination / truth serum dream bliz has in the middle of 1×6 is SO FUCKING GOOD and is the thesis of the entire show, and certainly the first season. It contains blitz struggling with his connections with verosika, fizzorolli, stolas and even M+M. it shows us exactly how aware blitz is about his own padderns and spirals. it practically smacks us in the face with the whole theme of working class v royalty, with blitz literaly crawling up a staircase towards stolas, his clothes going from a simple clown frock (representing his childhood) to his working clothes that he wears. clothes he wears from a business he owns, a symbol of freedom as an imp, but he still gains shackles as stolas reaches to embrace him. blitz screams defiantly that all of his hallucinations need to shut the fuck up, and they all start to slowly dissolve and disappear because he pushes everyone away. this sequence shows the audince very plainly every rotten problem with the main protagonist, before most of his real conflict even starts and it's done SO WELL. it inspires a true feeling of desperation and despair, for the charcter and for the audince. and in *true* helluva boss fashion, it's wrapped in a phantom of the opera parody that starts with "you my little bitch boy, are tripping balls" and ends with pegging jokes. what a fucking sequence. sequence of all time actualy. best episode of season one for sure

i really like that the start of hear my hope sounds like a worship song. It comes from Emily, who is a seraphim. It even goes so far as to have her say "o'er" instead of "over", to make it sound more like a prayer. It's a reminder that Emily is holy, and that's why she's so determined to help save the sinners in hell, no matter how they've treated her, no matter how much it might sting to have to apologize for heaven's actions. they are souls, and thus (in the words of sera), god's "sons and daughters" that can be saved through redemption. And the choice to make her sound more like a holy choir separates her a bit from Adam and what heaven sounded like in season one, because they are ideologically different from one another. (And season two's Lute picks up that sound, and even amplifies it a bit, not letting that faction/ideology die out in the show, and I think that's done really well, too.) Emily embodies all that heaven should be, not what some of it is. That is why she mirrors so well with Charlie. It's not that they sound alike or act alike (though they do), It's that Charlie embodies the opposite of what Emily is (angel/devil, heaven/hell) but is in the same ideology as her (sinners can and should be redeemed). Charlie is all that heaven wants hell to be, not what it actively is. That is why hear my hope starts as a worship song: the show wants to present hear my hope and the message at the core of the song as the morally holy thing. and the way they convey that is by stripping all of the chaos of the season two finale away, and showing Emily proudly and boldly hope for goodness. And then it has everyone join in her message; all of their voices coming together to make kind of "musical/theater kid" sound the show is known for. this is the narrator picking up the pen and saying, "here is what I want you to take away from this song, episode, and season." uhhhh anyways I started this post with one thought and now I have like three different ones. I love when we go on these little walks together through my brain you guys <3

it's my personal headcannon that alisor has a rotating list of opps depending on who pissed him off the most recently. and in the new season for like half of episode 1 he's beefing hard with lucifer but then Lilith shows up and starts demanding the attention of both lucifer and Charlie and alistor immedatly decides he does NOT like her ass. so then, much to the confusion of anyone who's been staying at the hotel for the past couple weeks, he immedatly starts babying and pampering lucifer, basicly in a attention contest with Lillith and we'll maybe get a reprise of hell's greatest dad or something (and he gathers dirt on her all throughout the season, and that's used in the finalie)
