One of the reasons I love collecting Helmut Lang is because they did seemingly endless variations and reworks of his signature styles. There's always another strange version of a piece that I haven't seen before. . The asymmetric 3 pocket 'trucker' jacket from S/S 1997 is by far the rarest HL denim design, possibly because it is one of the weirdest. Stores back then didn't seem keen to invest in the label's more unconventional menswear. As a result, most of the few examples of this design seen nowadays are samples. . Helmut Lang offered it in denim and military sateen, a sturdy cotton fabric with a subtle shine. There are at least five versions in this fabric alone - and here are two exceptionally rare examples. The left has bronze nickel buttons and the shoulder is finished with a silver cock ring. The right has silver buttons and the 1997's iconic stripe applications in soft cotton voile. Both are one-offs as far as I know, but there may be a couple more out there since Helmut Lang used multiple showrooms at the time. New to @endyma's #helmutlangarchive: Helmut Lang Jeans AW 1997, Cropped parka with stripe application in vintage resin-backed cotton. In my view, one of the rarest and cutest Helmut Lang coats ever made! . The design is based on the snow variant of the United States Army’s classic M-1965 parka. While many of the original military features are present, the silhouette, finishing and overall vibe of the piece is quintessential Helmut Lang. . The typical fishtail hem is omitted in favour of a super cute cropped straight silhouette, while the nylon blend usually seen on these parkas has given its place to a beautifully aged cotton with a broken-in finish. A gigantic wool-lined snorkel hood, a bunch of drawstrings and 1997's signature rubber stripe complete the design. . The interior has a removable liner in borg fleece that arguably looks super nice worn by itself. Beautiful proportions and fading on this rare #helmutlang jacket from SS 1997, the first #helmutlangjeans collection. . The design is loosely based on the classic Levi's type I jacket from the 1930s. Many of the original features have been abbreviated and reduced to their core, resulting in a timeless and pure garment. This tastefully reductive approach characterises much of the label's best work. . The fabric is raw denim that has been worn extensively to give it a vintage patina with pronounced high-contrast fades. Clean lines in a fluid fabric. #helmutlangjeans AW 1997 Structured seam polo shirt with slashed sleeves in double transparent nylon jersey. This piece had cigarette burn damages that could not be repaired. To fix this, parts of the double fabric's exterior layer were reversed and switched, concealling the damages to the interior side. ENDYMA works with various tailors and craftsmen to achieve this level of restoration for each and every object in the #helmutlang collection. #helmutlangarchive #endyma (at ENDYMA)

Best skirt ever from the first #helmutlangjeans collection, S/S 1997. In green nylon basketball mesh with a cute cheap lace fril.
