Hey, um, medical billing/insurance claim site of Tumblr, can I get a sanity check or some help on this one?

My kid was in a bike accident in may that resulted in him being transported to a hospital to get checked out due to someone saying they saw him pass out after. No concussion, and thank the stars and little fishes for that. But now I have received this bill.

The denial reason doesn’t sit right with me.

Denied due to provider contracted/negotiated rate expired/not on file.

It sounds like they don’t have accurate information on their system and they’re trying to make me pay because of it. But I can’t afford this. I can’t pay this.

What does it mean?

How do I fight it? Do I just resubmit the bill?

hey y’all. i need some help. I’m a 2Spirit mahu (Cherokee/Kootenai/Kanaka) queer person working in cannabis and cannabis education, as well as community person and SA victim advocacy. I love my community and have and will do anything for it.

it’s been a year from hell- I took my abuser to court and my family disowned me, I was diagnosed with severe CPTSD and depression, and the one person in my family that was helping me died very suddenly. i fought like hell to get where I am, saved everything I could and worked odd jobs, landed myself a job that I’m slowly climbing the ropes at, and finally got me and my partner an apartment near more chosen family.

still, finances are very, very tight, and as much as I hate to do it I have to ask for some more help. I’m currently looking at some better opportunities, but I need help. rent is coming up for me on the 15th and i have (barely) enough for it, but i won’t have enough for all my utilities and things. i’m setting a goal of $300 for this week, to cover my utilities for March and some other xtra to make sure we have groceries and can eat.

I’ve worked so hard for this- I don’t want to fall short now.

A new attempt to not give up.

We are a couple of two girls who have been through abuse here in Brazil by the healthcare system. We went through slave labor and several types of aggressions. We are asking for help because I am now dependent on using a wheelchair due to injuries caused by what I went through, and I am also neurodivergent. My partner is injured as well from what we went through. We used to receive government aid, which has now ceased, and we are fighting to get it back. In the meantime, we are facing food insecurity and the risk of becoming homeless. I am a writer and I also offer poetry and prose writing commissions if you're interested.
