i think everyone at the university is bisexual without a single exception. literally all of them. imre has a pink, purple and blue colour scheme. that's just how it is. no criticism.

Hemme: What part of "no" do you not understand?
Kvothe: The "oh" part.
More weird reminders:
A ton of people think / thought Kvothe was Yllish from his hair and looks, Hemme among them.
“Ahhh,” Hemme said, feigning disappointment. I had heard that Yllish tribes use the sun to tell time, and as such, have no true concept of punctuality. However, as you are not Yllish, I can see no excuse for being late. Can you?”
SO AT SOME POINT Hemme thought Kvothe was Yllish and Kvothe said he wasn’t. A LOT of people compare Kvothe to Yllish people throughout the first book.
Hemme: Think you can answer some questions without the usual level of sarcasm?
Kvothe: If you can ask questions without the same level of stupid.
Hemme: The council has made a decision.
Kvothe: I understand that the council has made a decision. But being that it's a stupid ass decision, I've elected to ignore it.
Master Hemme is a good person and performs a necessary function: He weeds out the stupid and cowardly from the university. He was forced into this position when he first became a Master, and has never let his act slip. Brandeur is his understudy.
Before he got the job he was an incredibly nice and understanding fellow, and wished to be a Master so no one would be treated like he was by the previous Master in the position. Alas we all have our Giant Iron wheels we must bear.
