Sneaking up on the Ninth’s Lieutenant wasn’t difficult. Stealth was a specialty of hers, after all; but today she used her powers for evil. Quiet as a shadow, Etsu came up behind her, leaning forward until her chin all but rested atop her shoulder. The candy nestled between her lips would undoubtedly muffle her words, but hopefully Mashiro would get the gist.

“I heard it was your birthday~ You like pocky, right?”

A little shake to the box --- already open --- punctuated her question.

@henjiin has me thankful for all her good mashiro content #blessed they have been around for nearly as long as I can remember and I still enjoy every bit of their Mashiro bringing all the cute to my dash and her writing of dialogue is always Mashiro to a T!

“It is a desert,” she sighed, pulling her hair over one shoulder. Sweat made the back of her neck sticky and uncomfortable. “But there was no sun. Which meant no heat. Deserts are quite cold at night.” 

“I thought it might be pleasant to finally experience a change of seasons, but now that it’s here, I don’t know how you all stand it.” The humidity alone was stifling. Was she breathing air? Or water? “Much less work in it.”
